Tuscan at Sebring
My friends site is reporting Synergy will field two Tuscan R's at Sebring.
He is usually accurate. Cheers! Last edited by independent; 24 Jan 2004 at 09:04. |

The TVR ran very well indeed at sebring last year - it barely missed a beat.

Is the Tuscan's I6 derived from the BMW M3 unit? I was awatching British GT on SPEED today and the Tuscan sounded an awful lot like an M3.
thanks Edited to add: It may just sound like an M3 because it has the same type of engine. Last edited by sportscarsRULE; 24 Jan 2004 at 19:37. |

Nope its a TVR designed engine - a straight six rather than a V6

Doesn't TVR also now build their own V-8????
what is the displacement on it, and is it a decent engine??? |

The TVR V8 engine is the AJP V8 with a diplacement of 4.5 litres and 420 BHP, 380Lb/ft torque, road going figures. In the race going Cerbera it was good for 0-60 in 3.9 seconds and over 160 MPH. I seem to remember Martin Short and someone else ( was it Rob Barff?) racing one for Rollcentre Racing (it was a green car anyone else remember it?) I seem to remember it being fast but not to reliable. It was then replaced with the first version of the straight 6 which we all know is a good engine.

Yep, the infamous "Flying Snot" Shorty built and raced it- it passed on to another owner when the Tuscan R came alomg but Martin, Rob Barff and Simon Pullan raced it at the 2002 Spa 24 hours and brought the old girl home.
