Well depending on where we end up camping in tertre rouge, we could be enjoying a fine meal and listening to the band in the background.

I've never yet listened to any of the bands and to be honest, I don't intend to start this year! That's on Saturday evening? Isn't there some race going on then......?

Well they are going to have to play VERY LOUD if I am to hear them over the noise of the cars while I am marshalling at poste 106, so I'll ignore them too!!!!!

Friday night would be good. I like the idea (if the band was good), but they would have to be very very good to get me there on Saturday.

I hear ya ..... but last year I watch UB-40 from near the Dunlop bridge , and for awhile it was great to hear red red wine , drink red red wine being blasted by a Corvette or Aston ..... worth a try , just to say you did it I reckon . |

I'd have been excited about this in 2004 maybe. Johnny Borrell has completely disappeared up his own **** since then. I will probably check them out for a bit.

Agreed. I wish I had seen Starsailor when they played however, I'm not a big fan of their music but they are a good live band.

I remember seeing Razorlight about seven years ago before their couple of years of NME-based relevancy. Nothing special, much more hype than music quality. Any other bands on?
I'd quite like to see them do something a little different than average pop. Something good but a little bit unknown like Yellow Moon Band or Beach House. Even in a supporting slot (which is probably a better idea) it would add some depth to the performances. Fever Ray would freak out the drunks a little bit |

1. No music - especially on the menu "a symphony of seafood" or "a medley of vegetables" - but also in the background, foreground or underground. 2. Never eat in a restaurant where the chef is thin. (ours weighs 130kgs!) |

We always turn up for the Saturday night concert and Razorlight should be ok. Best we've seen down there were Jamiroquai, which was then held on the inside of the circuit, I believe it was all tied in with Audi.
Watch out for the local gypsies mixing in the crowd if you do go though . |

It was indeed. I've got the T-Shirt! Although I didn't go, I got it from a journo mate who got so many freebies he took pity on me. I got that and an Audi flag signed by TK and AMcN amongst others. It isn't just Hindy!

Not everyone will like the Bands and although we might watch for a bit on saturday we often watch the bands on Wednesday between the practice sessions, as everything is so close to our campsite it is no effort
At least the ACO is trying to do something |

Yes I think it's a good addition to the event, I do keep RLM plugged in to one ear while the band play, I'd hate to think I'd miss anything . |

Bands or racing?
Both loud and noisy, neither exactly tuneful in a musical sense, but only one is music to my ears - and it's not the bands. |

Well I'm absolutely gutted that I'm missing out this year, and this doesn't help one bit.
Razorlight are a fantastic live band and I'd definitely be going to see them. The Saturday-night band normallly plays at the same time as I would take my break from the racing. I'd even reccomend to the hard-core spectators to pop along and see what it's all about on their way down to Tetre Rouge. |

You talk about taking a break as if it's mandatory?

obviously, concerts are NOT for harcore racing fans
last year (or was it 2009?), on my way from tertre rouge to start/finish straight, I spent a moment viewing The Stranglers and I really enjoyed it but don't waste your time TRYING to atempt the concert, you'll miss so much racing time |

The only time I listened was to the Jamiroquai concert, don't know when that was, seems like ages ago.

Good on the ACO for trying to keep people entertained and at the track during the evening, but it's not for me, I go to watch the race and socialise with friends, some of which I only see once a year in mid-June. |

Yep, that pretty much sums up my view on the trackside concerts, although I do curse my bad luck if I happen to be trying to walk back to the tribune area from Tertre Rouge just as a concert finishes......takes 3 times as long (or more).
