Thruxton

I'm just wondering if anyone knows where I can get any info on the Thruxton kart circuit. A map/pictures would be helpful.

PS Anyone here know what its like to drive? Any tips?

Thanks!

Have a look at http://www.iantaylor.co.uk for info on the new circuit. It also has a video of it.

It looks very twisty, most likely built for prokart (arrive and drive) runners

Wow, its a really fun track to drive, a couple of flat out left sweepers are especially fun!! However their karts are awful to drive in the wet, no front end grip at all!!

And I have to say that the staff there were very professional and the onboard timing display....BRILLIANT!!!!

Hi Paul,

Are you still doing the Club 100 2-stroke championship ? I race sprints, elite and endurance in these karts. I really like the fact that the chassis and engines are all the same so it just comes down to the driver - great concept and much less frustrating than cheque book racing don't you think ?

I have also done some Club 100 races, and they are great fun, and great value for money. 1000% better than a 4-stoke race, alot more skill, speed etc. The best example is that is the speed difference between the 4 and 2-strokes is the difference between say an Escort and a Ferrari.

From what I said before the circuit looks too twisty and I really can not see the Thruxton circuit every being more than 4-stoke corporate events. The 2-strokes would never get around the hairpins,
