Achtung! Schuey crashes
Looks like hes got this seasons one mistake out of the way early... dummonkopf!
From Autosport: http://www.autosport.co.uk/newsitem.asp?id=21735&s=5 Schuey crashes on first lap of 2003 World champ hits the tyrewall and damages Ferrari Reigning world champion Michael Schumacher has crashed on his first Formula 1 lap of the year at Barcelona this morning (Tuesday). Schumacher lost control of his Ferrari on his installation lap at 9.01 this morning and spun backwards into a tyre barrier at the Circuit de Catalunya. He was unhurt but the rear of the car, including the wing, was damaged. The German is expected to be back out on track later today. I think Autosport must have removed that last bit before I read it, so I suppose we should do the same Last edited by Adam43; 21 Jan 2003 at 13:54. |

Maybe this can become an ongoing theme in 2003
Tough luck Mikey |

This seems to be a common theme to his pre-season testing. Didn't he have a few "big" offs in pre-season testing last year?

Perhap's one of Mosleys ideas for closer racing was to blindfold MS and he was testing it out?

I started to get excited as i think that was not the only incident |

Testing is a better time to crash than any other.

I should hope that they are running without TC, it's not allowed this year! If they are running it, they're wasting their time.
Schuey probably needed to get used to it again |

They are allowed to run with TC this year. Its next year that it is being outlawed. The only "aids" banned this year are the two way telemetry and cockpit communications.

I'm not sure it's 100% that TC will be banned from race 1.
I suppose it is the most likely time for a driver to crash. And if that is his 'one mistake' this year then the other's are in for a tough time. What car was he running (presumably a F2002 (?) , but what new bits are on it?) |

Does anyone remember Shuey winning in spain in 96 or 97 with the car in a constant slide (ie no traction control) and winning by a mile? Lack of traction control is only going to play into this man's (machine?) hands...
He does have prangs in testing but has a habit of getting right when it counts! This man will retire with 7 titles no sweat - assuming he retires at the end of 2004. |

Schuey will suffer without traction control? Wishful thinking...
