Nicely done I was at a freinds house last night so I just finished watching the race thanks to the good old VCR

Good race. I prefer this kind of track without the endless side by side stuff where neither car has the power to complete a pass.

Rice could have and should have won. I felt he was a bit hasty going for that pass on Wheldon. You can't really blame Dan for moving down the track. Right front contacting left rear, it was more in the hands of the spotter, or Buddy's responsibility to back out.

This was the first IRL race that I have sat down and watched start to finish (aside from the 500). I have seen parts of other races in the past, but not the whole deal.

I was impressed with the action, and I agree that it was Rice's race once Meira dropped back. Why he decided to try to pass Wheldon and not just take him on corner exit I will never know particularly when he had to know that Wheldon was on tires leftover from the last Ice Age - well 74 laps old, anyway!

Good event though!

That's what it takes John!

Get to know the drivers and teams, then sit down and watch a race, and you'll be hooked! IMHO, this is the best open wheel racing to be found anywhere. It's quite a show.

Why did Wheldon stay out with such crappy tires, anyway? The positions gained by less time in the pits seemed to be lost in raw speed.

Also, can Paul Page talk? He mangles more sentences than any announcer I know! Why can't they just let Goodyear yak?

Seriously the race was enjoyable. Lorrie and I both like F1 better (no offense) but as I have said many times before I love open wheel racing here - there is nothing like it! There was good action, good strategy and some drama when the Rahal cars broke/took themselves out!
