Ten-Tenths RACE Gaming League

Hi all,

RACE is just around the corner, and I'm going to start a thread to glean the interest for who wants to take part?

Suggesting is we start with our own pre-season test & practice race or something a week or so after the release (which looks to be a bit more organised than the GTR2 [he says cautiously]), pick the semi-pro/pro etc. natures and make sure there isn't any defiantly awful factor to multiplayer which makes it not a good idea...then discuss the rules, best times to play and cars and start our own WTCC Off season!

Post your our interest here, plus the speed of your internet connection...you're initial 'lean' towards team, you may change your mind when you get the game. Example below...my own:

Name/Handle: Hazard
Connection: 2Mb ADSL
Car/Team Preference: SEAT

RACE should be available this Friday generally. It will also be downloadable from Valve's Steam.

Make sure you've tried the demo and ensured your PC can handle the game as well!
Download the demo here

I'd really love to join, but at the moment neither mine or my brother's computer will be able to run the game well, and I imagine it would be worse over the internet. Really sorry to say this, but I won't/can't compete.

I'll be up for it, just depends when the game actually gets released in Australia. GTR was slow reaching our shores, but GTR2 got here quite quick......

My best time on professional mode has been 1:36.8 with the Leon, but I'm extremely inconsistent (and extremely slow with the E46).

Just did 2 laps, got a 1:41, so more practice required methinks

Can anyone who plays the full game in the next few days tell me how well it scales with regards to cars in the race, e.g. is there a significant FPS drop with more cars?

Some games have that, others (like rFactor - with me) dont, hopefully RACE is the latter!

1:41.5's my best in the Léon thus far

Getting better though.

There are bits in the lap where I can see I can improve, but not 5s worth really.

With other cars, hope some of those will be clearer so I can see where I'm slow and attack appropriately.

I'd love to join you guys for an online race every now and then but I don't have time for a league really

1.37.4 at Brands in the Alfa 156 but I've spent most of the time at the other tracks lately so hopefully I should be able to improve that.

If you select Pro it should be full-sim

I haven't had that happen to me

I managed a mid 39 too, the BMW, the Seat doesn't load, and half the time game freezes so i never get more than one or two hot laps in before it crashes.

My HD is on the way out, just no money for a new one!

Ah, that's not good.

I would like some money for a new hard drive and Logitech G25....

Then i'd like to compare my laps before and after i got a wheel.

1:38.849 in the Léon (close to default set-up, higher 6th gear so I don't hit top speed before Hawthorn, and less fuel). My objective was to get sub 1:40 this afternoon, and I did that in a Toledo! Then upgraded to the Léoon and went better twice!

The Honda and Alfa's are also quick - regularly setting 1:40's as well. The Chevrolet seems a bit clunky and I don't feel I can get the pace I want out of it.

BMW's are a whole different kettle of fish...because of the RWD, I can't drive them! They just spin out on me. I don't want to confuse my senses anymore, so I'm sticking to the FWD selection.

Multiplayer isn't working for me...there were server issues yesterday but even the reported 'fix' doesn't seem to work - just keep getting disconnected.

Are you sure the game updated? Have you restarted steam?
