Interesting data f1matrix.
Renault show a contrast between the balance in quals numer, and the huge gap about qual times. |

Good set of data, backing up most of our suspicions as to which drivers are performing stronger.
Note that Sato, Alonso and Bamgartner failed to complete one of their laps each by spinning off, so in effect Button and Trulli have 3-2 leads, and Bruni's is 4-0. Panis, Fisichella, Raikkonen (twice), Bruni and Klien have all lost runs for reaosns beyond their control. |

And Button had a rather big error in Spain. Several of the team battles do not add up to five. I'm assuming mechanical issues are not included? What's your determination for exclusions f1matrix?

In effect the comparison between pilots of the same team can't be done if one of them hasn't complete his lap.

But such figures tell lesser if we take into consideration the fuel strategy.. So yes, Michael would still probably be faster than RB anyways, but the time gap may be slightly smaller because Spain, RB ran a heavy 2 stopper strategy.

I degree, in Australia RAI was the fastest with 0,997sec of difference.
So: Code:
RAI - COU 3 - 1 Gap in favor of RAI -0.985 |

Good stuff, but I would say that when a driver fails to compelte a lap due to crashing or spinning, that should be considered as a defeat for them, whereas cases of one driver having a mechanical failure shouldn't be taken as adefeat for them.
Note that the gaps given are totals, not averages. Dividing them by 7 would give an accurate impression of the race-by-race gaps. You can throw a blanket over the Toyota, McLaren, Sauber and Williams gaps (Montoya's usually been just a bit better, but better) - only Jordan, Ferrari and Jaguar are really wide consistantly, ebcause Malaysia distorts Alonso's figures. |
