German ERC
Hi All,
I've been looking into attending the final ERC round at Estering in October but cannot find much info on the track from the website - can anyone help? Is the track spectator friendly and how much of the lap can you see? What's the racing like? It looks like a pretty fast track. Also, as it's the last round, will entry numbers be down if the chmpionship has been decided and will any GB & IRL drivers be going? I know Belgium & Holland have good GB/IRL entries but I can't make Belgium. How does Germany and Holland compare for spectators/racing etc? Any advice is much appreciated! p.s. Whilst I have been a Rallycross fan for years, this is my inaugural Ten Tenths post - so go easy! |

Welcome to Tenths! I'm sure you'll be made very welcome, so enjoy your stay.
As for the German ERC round, it seems fairly likely that the Guru will be along an minute to explain exactly the ups and downs of the event. Good luck with your decision! |

I went the year before last 2006. I flew into Hamburg, spent a while 'window shopping' there and then on Sunday morning drove a hire car down to the track. It's not very far away but you'd have to drive.
It costs extra to get into the pits and the track isn't that good for spectating IMO. I'm not sure about the camping possibility. I've only been to Maasmechelen (and Brit circuits) before so don't have much to compare it to. I guess one good thing about the German event will be that you may see the championship decided there. |

Being the last round of the ERC its a good meeting especially if you take in the end of season party at the Feste Halle, a mad evening when you always see a German teeter on a ladder to turn a flag cos its round the wrong way (normally the Czech one) and such sights as Morton Bermingrud doing a striptease on a table.
The track is not the best for viewing or racing but scores of Scandinavians seem to have a good time and titles are often decided here and scores settled in an end of season way. The cheapest way is Ryanair from Stansted to Lubeck, airport bus into Hamburg bus station, cross the road to the main Hamburg train station and catch a train to Buxtehude. |

The Estering is one of my favourite tracks. The only negative thing about it, is that you can't see the whole track. For spectators the track is very friendly as there are no huge fences. Normally they also got the Supernationals on the program.
And it's a very fast track !! |

+ very nice track
+ good view at the start and first corner + very, very nice right - left combination at end of the lap + supernationals - pay extra for paddock, don't know the figure but it's a lot of money - you only see half the track - it often rains there, and then the spactator area is a mess. Just go and see for yourself |

Holland ERC
Many thanks everyone!
Have, in fact, now decided to go to The Netherlands round and take the ferry from Harwich - crazy! Am hoping for a healthy contingent of GB/IRL drivers. I think Pat Doran is heading out for it to join team Tracey, Proctor and maybe Evans? Does anyone know of the rough timetable for the w/e there? When the practice / heats / finals start and any camping info would be very handy. Apologies for all the questions! |

I think that the timetable is the same at all ERC event (except France, with a break of 1 1/2 hour to eat baguette and drink wine.
