Only been there once, and my lasting memory was of the sideways rain practically sandblasting the skin off my face ... well, that and my new pop-up tent breaking in strong winds, the first time I tried to put it away...oh yeah, and as I was doing, somebody's gazebo blowing over, and missing me, my car, and some other guy by about a foot each . (have you noticed a wind theme yet?)
I will be there from Friday night. |

I will be there on Sunday, i'd already volunteered to do flagging at Oulton Park on Saturday, so will make epic cross country journey from Cheshire to the middle of nowhere (sorry Norfolk) Saturday night!
Any sign on advice etc would be welcome from regulars, never been to Snetterton. Where do you sign on? Can you Drive to your post (on track or service road) Is there any kind of breakfast facilities available? |

I believe that most/all of the circuit can be accessed via the infield, where you can park. I'm not sure about parking directly behind outfield posts. There is a bar/breakfast place in the infield, across the main paddock from race control. EDIT (P.S. The bar is probably where you'll find me on Friday/Saturday night, unless there is any kind of campsite party going on). EDIT (P.P.S. Camping, I believe, is on the right, just before the bar, if you follow the main access road through the infield). Last edited by Guinness2702; 9 Jul 2008 at 11:47. |

I am a "local" so I will do what I can to help.
Sign on is under race control, you can park near Tyrells and walk through the paddock, look for the big tree and head in that direction. All posts can be got to by car, infield and outfield. I really enjoy marshalling at Snet but the weather can play quite a factor as it is very flat with not many trees, I would be prepared with lots of layers and waterproof gear if today's weather is anything to go by. Mike Whitney is normally the cheif marshal for BARC at Snet and is very approchable if you need any further info. I will be there but as a spectator, enjoy your weekend. |

Breakfast can be bought at Tyrells but I beleive you can get a better deal at the restaurant outside the circuit on one of the roundabouts, I have never been but I'm told it is good.

Flame is the name of the restaurant just out side the circuit it is usualy open from 7am the food is always cooked fresh to order and is very good with proper portions! price is reasonable. Flame is frequented by a large number of the local marshals. It is the old Little Chef on the A11, from the circuit head for Thetford and before you get on the A11 it is there.
Camping is where Guinness2702 says, but with it being a big meeting I would avoid pitching up near the bar area as it had a tendancy to bog with unmentionables, however I have not been to Snett this year (yet) and this may have been rectified. |

Flame is the building off the little roundabout that is at the apex of the red line now on the map, it shows on the map as having three carparks, if I could I would mark it for you

Should be there sometime Friday afternoon, in time for the pre briefing
For those who haven't been before, Snet is a friendly circuit with some great posts. Riches (first corner), Sear In (2nd corner), The Esses (after the long straight), Russell (the chicane at the end) and Suicide Alley (between the pit lane and the pit straight). There was lots of carnage last year, especially at the starts, and judging by the forecast, we may be kept busy again. |

Well, I suppose I must apologise to Richeys out for joking about how boring the Porsches would be, but I guess you deserved your visitor for callously locking me in the toilet!
Seriously though, I hope everybody is okay, I saw all the heads come up and leg it just before it came in, looks like you all made it out in time, and I didn't hear of any injuries to you lot or up at Sears, either. |

It was the most excitment I've know during a Porsche race. Great to see everyone getting stuck in to sort things out afterwards.

Catch 'em on Motorsport UK sometime, although at the rate they're going, it will be Christmas, before they're on, they only just finished the Donington races this week, so all of Thruxton and Croft to get through before they get on to Snetterton

I was flagging at the pit exit when the porsche came in - yep we did move quite smartish :-)
Sarah Franklin had a blow out coming up the pit straight, hit the armco on the track side of the pit exit and came to a stop eventually just past our post. She was fine though - the same could not be said of the car. :-) Nice to see a 18 car grid instead of the usual 11 too. |
