Alx Danielsson... and now?
Alx was not at the last round of the Euroseries 3000 in Nurburgring, the Elk Motorsport car was driven by Razia... does any of you has any news concerning is future plans? Will he continue in F.3000 with another team, will he step in GP2 or what?

As far as I know there are no other plans than continuing to chase F1 tests and drive for his team in the Scandinavian Porsche Carrera Cup.
Unfortunately there's been a tragedy in the Danielsson family where Alx' mother was killed and his father seriously injured in a car accident last week. |

I guess that explains his general absence from the racing scene at the moment then.
That's dreadful news and I'm sure I speak for all of us in wishing Alx all the best at this difficult time. |

I hope that Alx comes back to racing next year, he deserves a chance in GP2, more than guys like Martinez and BCNs Finns, who seem to have moore money than talent. Thats what GP2 is all about after all

Alx will be racing this weekend at Knutstorp with his Carrera Cup team. His father has thankfully been recovering well from his injuries in the car crash. There will be a new paint job on the four Danielsson cars as a tribute to Kickan Danielsson. This will obviously be a tough weekend for Alx and it will be the first time in his career that his mother's not watching him race.

Latest word from Danielsson, today in fact, is that he's hoping to announce his plans for 2008 in early november.
Supposedly he's got something big coming up, you could really see the excitement in his post Hopefully the deal will go his way for a change... |

I know this thread has been dormant for a while, but... obviously whatever Alx's big deal was, it didn't go through .
In the Danielsson Motorsport website, www.dms.se, he is listed as one of the team's six Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia drivers. However, they have only used 2 drivers (Ohlsson and Ernstson) so far this season. I hope Alx will be driving in the Carrera Cup later this season... at least it would be something . |

I wonder why Alx hasn't a chance in GP2. Maybe in Piquet Sports???

I think Mekola you are talking about Valsecchi (Durango)
Alx or Asmer ... but seems like Puglisi will get the drive |

Valsecchi had a fiery accident, META4. Will he be fit enough for Montecarlo???
Alas, still think that Alx deserves a chance in GP2 Series. At least with DPR. |

According to an article on Danielsson's website he's off to test a Grand Am car in the States in a while. It says that Grand Am is one of the world's premiere sportscar series though, not too sure about that one...

But... what about Metro sponsorship he had??? That free magazine remember is popular on subways around the world, even operated at Buenos Aires system during 2001 (well, not the best year to do this...). Even saw Metro decals at Red Bull F1 cars and once though it could be linked to Alx's sponsorship. Shame that it didn't work that way.

I have read that he is currently a driver coach for his family's Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia team... plus he will do one or two races later in the year.

It's a kind of shame that he can't do GP2 for the moment... but it's me or this affects all Scandinavian drivers who aren't Finnish??? Even Tom Kristensen suffered of the same problems on his formula era but had the huge consolation price of being the driver who won Le Mans more times than any other...

Good for him if he gets Grand-Am, many good and respectable names in it, his countryman Nic Joensson... in it. If he can earn money on Grand-Am it's good, at least he'll be paid. No offence but Grand Am is good championship, look at the names inc. look at the makes competing, hope he can sign it.

Btw, he's doing demos with Renault's F1 car on WSbR weekends, or at least he was in Le Mans.
