Total-F1 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Whopping great lies

Right - I'm sure we have some pretty influential people round here, I think we should prepare some pretty outlandish rumours and see how long they take to get in a) the Sun, or b) Autosport!! :P

I read in some websites today that Montoya wants to drive for Ferrari, but not until Schumacher leaves because Schumacher would actually put a choke hold on that cocky *******!

DNQ should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
From Autosport.com

Alan Jones will step back into the cockpit in 2002. The Australian has signed a deal with Paul Stoddart's Mianrdi team to replace the struggling Tarso Marques, who has so far preformed below expectations.

"We wanted to get AJ into the cockpit as soon as possible, but he needs to rack up a couple of hundred kilometres of testing to qualify for a superlicense. We might be able to get him in the car by the US GP if we're lucky."

The Australian won 12 races during his career, and took the 1980 World Championship for Williams. His last race was the 1986 Australian Grand Prix, were he drove a Beatrice Lola. After hauling the car up through the field, the gritty Aussie was forced to retire with engine troubles.

"I'm pleased to be back. I know it won't be easy, but I think by the end of next year we'll be challenging for race wins."

Jones will test the Minardi PS01 at Silverstone next Wednesday.

From FIA.com:

"As part of the FIA's continuing quest for safety in Formula 1 Max Mosley has announced the following rule change which will come in to effect from January 2002:

As a way of reducing speeds in F1, rather than try to restrict high technology, we have decided to introduce a weight handicap system for drivers, similar to that used in horse racing. All drivers will have to weigh a minimum of 500kg - any difference between their actual and handicap weights will be made up by placing lead sheets in their overalls.

Teams have already been informed of this rule change and this has led to a number of probable driver changes: this morning the FIA received applications for Superlicences from Ferrari on behalf of Froilan Gonzalez and from McLaren on behalf of Gerry Marshall"

economy_waffle should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
this is wot itv-f1.com has said:

in a shock move, the engine manufacturer Mercedes have agreed to supply engines to the minardi team for the rest of they season, next season and possibility to extend the contract further. The Mercedes spokesman Norbet Haug said earlier to day:

"I am very pleased to be working with Paul Stoddart and his team Minardi. I would also like to say that we wouldnt be working with a team that doesn't have potential and we beleive that Minardi will be near the top of the manufacturers like they should be. Thankyou"

In a deal reported to be £10 Million over a 1 year period, Paul Stoddart is very pleased at the deal:

"Of course we would like to be at the top of the ladder - in terms of manufacturers and we beleive that this could help us acheive our 5 year-goal of being in the top 6"

Of course this is a very suprising deal and has caught out many people in the paddock who thought it was an early April Fool's prank. Fernando Alonso who spoke exclusively to ITV-F1.COM earlier today expressed his happiness at the deal:

"Obviously i am very pleased not only for me but the team. it will be good to qualify furhter up the grid - and possibly contend for points"

It is also expected that pigs will start to fly and that a cow called daisy flew over the moon.
