Pilgrim1975 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Buying GE Tickets on arrival

Hi folks. I'll be arriving at 5:23pm on Saturday June 15 and will need a GE ticket (camping permit's already sorted). Given my arrival time and the fact that I'll be camping on Expo, where's the best time and place to buy a GE ticket. Would it be at the gate on the Sunday or should I head for the Expo rotunda after checking into my hotel for the Saturday night?

I don't think you can purchase tickets then already at the entrance so your best bet is the Rotunda indeed. And staying at Expo it doesn't make a big difference for you distance-wise.

Edit: don't know how much gear you'll be taking with you, but when it's much, I'll get them on the saturday, and just hit the campsite on sundaymorning and then go to scrutineering.
When it's less, take it with you to the Rotunda on sunday and then hit the campsite and go to scrutineering.

I'd head for the Rotunda too.

As already said when you arrive you can get tickets from the rotunda the camp site at expo will be very empty it is not one of the sites that those arriving that early will normally be using so it is unlikely that any of the facilities will be in place, you will probably have to use showers etc at the circuit so ACO membership is a real must. With few people around make sure that you lock everything up. As there will be very little open at that time you can get tickets when ever you like, they are for sale at the carrefore so once parked at expo walk to the tram stop at tertre rouge and get the tram into town for scrutineering and then get the tickets and supplies at the carrefore, however if you are an ACO member you can get tickets at the tourist office in le mans at the discounted price.

As far as I know the campsites opens sunday 12:00.
A few years back, the first time scruteneering was on sunday, we arrived at saturday and everything was closed. We got permission to camp at the parking in front of Technoparc. But that's public road, so no toilets or electricity. Since then we leave home at sundaymorning and arrive sunday afternoon 14:30, so just after the camping opens.
I know at Houx, it's possible to buy General Entrance tickets at the gate.

But the office at Rotonde should be ok too.

Campsites open at 10 am on sunday. Except for Arnage and Mulsanne, they only open at wednesday. Don't know what time.

The campsites will be open on Sunday, but ones like Expo will be empty the early arrivals will tend to be on MB, houx and TR, also the facilities may not be in place on all the camp sites they usually arrive in the week

All and everything present and up and running!

Apart from loo attendants. Never seen any of them all week. The loos and showers seemed to clean themselves miracleously?

Cleaning was up and running from wednesday on, security the same.
One doesn't need cleaning when you are in small numbers, enough cabins to choose from .

Heard someone say there where posters to be found everywhere around the track shouting for the Le Mans 24 hours, stating only €45,- for an entree ticket?

GE ticket issue is now sorted, courtesy of a fellow Beermountaineer. Thanks for the tips and advice and see you all in June.
