Teddington Ted should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
New pre66 GT and Touring car series

At the Aston Club Racing dinner on Saturday a new series was announced for pre 66 GTs and Touring Cars. The top Aston will win a fantastic trophy in honour of Innes Ireland. I'm not sure whether the series itself will be so named but it looks as though it will be a cracking series which will help fill the gap left by the departure of the GT4s.

Another example of Aston Club Racing going from strength to strength.

Will it be FiA ? HRDC are running all stars which is similar, but a little more 'relaxed' at some of the same meetings ?

I don't know Joe. The regs are still to be published but my guess is that it will be to FIA spec with everyone on Dunlops.

Looks similar to the CSCC revamped Classic K series which is for pre '66 GT and touring! The first was last season so is this AMOC following on? How long are the races?

Being a bit nosy, but will this series feature at all of the AMOC meetings? It looks quite interesting.

There are no more details as yet although I hope that they do run the series at all rounds. It does mimic Classic K but there are lots of pre 66 GTs and Touring Cars out there so commercially it probably makes good sense for AMOC; especially now that the HSCC has restructured the Guards Trophy classes in favour of sports racers.

hadn't spotted that - so does that mean Stuart Tizzard has finally sold his Ginetta and bought a big banger?! Having broadened their net Guards should now formally split sports racers and GT's and have seperate races.

So Mark can you put up the potential calender so we can check for clashes elsewhere?

I know no more about the AMOC series but will post when I do. I may have been a bit hasty in terms of the larger engined sports cars in Guards. They will only run when the grids are split (ie.not with the GTs). That helps the GT grids.

Interesting that MGBs will be in the up to 2500cc class.
