Crash and Burn should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
What is going to happen to Button?

Jenson Button, currently in his second year of two on loan to Renault, has a few tense months ahead of him as his future is decided in the Williams boardrooms.

With Frank Williams having an option on the Brit after his loan spell, the question is whether to take him back or not.

Just look at Button's competition at Williams: Ralf Schumacher is contracted until the end of 2004, Williams have an option on Juan Pablo Montoya until 2004, and Williams have signed the promising Antonio Pizzonia as a test driver this season.

If Schumacher and Montoya perform as is expected this year, they'll be signed again for 2003, which mean Williams is in no rush to decide his line-up. The team boss, quoted on Ananova, said: "We are in a very good position regarding our drivers. There is no need to rush into any decision. This will all be sorted out during the course of the season."

With Button's spot at Renault also not secure, seeing as Fernando Alonso has been signed as a test driver for this season, it could mean Button will be courting Jaguar Racing, British American Racing and Arrows next season.

Button may still be in F1, but certainly not with Williams or Renault.

The only place where he could find a seat is perhaps Jaguar, who might want a British driver (and he would be better than Irvine).

But frankly he will be lucky to get a seat at all if he doesn't perform this year. If he does, he'll be in F1, but, to repeat, not with Williams.
