Atomic Kitten Racing
I may be out of date on this one, but before Xmas AK racing were placing ads in Autosport and going on about full GT programs in FIA GT and appearances at selected ALMS/ELMS rounds with their Corvettes.
Since then not a word. Anyone heard anything? It would be great to see some Corvettes in the FIA GT championship in either class to add a bit of spice to the usual suspects. Logan. |

Thanks for the link racer69,
Went and had a look and seeing as the home page mentioned their involvement with the "brilliant new Interactive Sportscar Championship" I think we can safely presume the site hasn't been updated for a while. I guess we shall have to wait and see... Logan. |

I read some of that website's text, but it's all a bit WEIRD. What a strange concept! I'm still not sure it's not a wind up!?!?
Also, the team's alleged "Group Managing Director and Lead Driver" has the same surname as me. Too weird mate, too weird. Last edited by Blue2; 31 Jan 2002 at 14:49. |

The last time i was at the site (few months ago) it was more up to date than it is now, something is up. The team definatly does exist though, it has a few GTS Corvette's, a GT3 Corvette, and may also have a Porsche GT3-R. They used the Porsche in the ELMS round at Estoril last year, the round that Johansson Audi and the Courage came together near the end.
I suppose you could try www.atomickitten.co.uk and use the link from there and see where that takes you. |

The appeared at the first- and only- Interactive Sportscar round at Donington with 2 uncompetitive Corvettes, did one Britsh GT round, the Estoril ELMS race and then seemed to disappear- they certainly didn't do anything like the programme that was listed in the Autosport advertisement |

Hopefully they will appear more often this year. They didn't get the full on ex-works GTS Corvettes till August at the earliest, maybe there were delays.
I think u are right about the vette at Estoril, i got all the Porsche GT3-R's mixed up. After all 12 of the 19 cars in that race were GT Porsche GT3-R's |

I spoke with a team manager at Pratt & Miller this morning and was informed that the Atomic Kitten team backed out of the deal to buy two cars. That means that all 9 of the official C5-R test and race cars are still owned by the factory. For much more info check:

Thanks for the info David.
I guess that means the end of AK racing for now at least on the international GT scene, Logan. |
