It isn't over, fans still unhappy!!
Sorry to post yet another thread but according to F1-Live.com's live timing, Michael is getting the thumbs down from fans during practice, can anyone verify this?

I've read the same thing. Good, I'm glad they are doing it.

Daily F1 says something similar. Oh well, he received more than thumbs down virtually every day for the last several years, not only on track but on various internet forums as well. Interesting the definitions of "many" and "fans" though...

Vast numbers of former fans is probably more like it. Nothing like betraying your constituents to get you a little attention.

Hmm,
I suspect Liz is postulating and not making a definitive statement. That said I wouldn't be surprised if it were a lot of former fans. I have to say that the reaction to these events has been amazing. |

That's what one site says. Others say different things. Depends on where you are standing, I'm sure.
up in the hospitality suites of course they are busy stuffing their faces and don't know anything about it. But down on the street among people who saved up all year for this one race, the mood is doubtless different. |

Perhaps 5% of the crowd is booing and the other 95% is applauding the booing?
Sorry, just repeating an assertion from a 19th century theatre critic..... |

On Speed, they showed Michael smiling and waving to the crowd as the majority of them were booing him.
It's good to see the crowd still wound up. Thats the only way the FIA will have the guts to dock them of any points. In a way, I feel sorry for Michael because it must be a terrible feeling to have people booing you 2 weeks after a grand prix - but like I said before - he's responsible for this one - so there's no point complaining about it. |

Bet he didn't feel sorry 4 DC when he got booed at in Monza 98(after Belgium '98 incident). So no-one should have sympathy for Michael this time!

I bet Rubens is enjoying it though.
Max has said (F1Live) that he has received more [mostly anti-Ferrari] mail and faxes on this issue than he received when Senna died. However, he takes the Jean Todt view that this will be GOOD for F1! Then he becomes incoherent in trying to back off in case he's very much mistaken. Max and Murray -- separated at birth? |

Senna12.. you took the words from my mouth!
Yeah can anyone imagine this sort of treatment being given to Senna or Prost. Michael has fallen in the eyes and hearts of people. He became a very small man after Austria. |

Fans need to do something drastic to show their feelings. How about missing qual and the race?

They won't miss the race, they've paid too much. I'd love to see backs turned for part of qualifying though!

Just read something interesting, apparantly Todt has admitted that the incident in Austria has damaged Ferrari's image. He also said that he never expected such a backlash from the fans and that this would be considered in future!

I want one for me and one for posterity. That's priceless! |

Do you think we'll see the same trend next in Canada, France, England, etc...?
If it continues do you think Michael will stay in F1 much longuer? I don't think his ego can take it. p.s. I'll be in Montréal for the GP weekend with about 50 other people (Cellphone company promotion) from across eastern Canada. I'm anxious to see how they feel about that.
