Racing Records at Goodwood

where can I get a copy of Robert Barkers Book? It seems that the illustrated history is easy to get (and a great book) but the racing records book is as rare as rocking horse....!

Hate to say it, Simon, but they printed a mere 100 copies of it (mine is #34, and I had to pre-order it 9 months before printing).

If I do get wind of one, I'll surely let you know, but they are very expensive already.

That sounds like a plan!

I can't offer you the book itself, but I'm sure on March 23rd I can come up with copies of all the references to meetings your car took part in.

That would be great - looks like I will owe you a pint for this!
as for the early history
1957-1961 Alan Murdoch
1961-2 Ken Simmons
1962 Graham Capel/Bob White (maroon with blue stripe)
1963 Bob White/Brian Hegbourne Colour not known
1964 Graham Capel (David Plumstead Racing)Blue with white stripe

In addition to the histoy you gave to me before do you have a record as to the colour it was then as it is currently bare metal so this is the chance to put it in period livery.
thanks for your help Tim

Um, Simon, you know you said March 23rd for the opening race....

My copy of Motor Sport this month says Saturday 22nd for the Silverstone meeting.

Might it be worth giving someone a call....?

apoligise I forgot to come back. Thanks Ted, glad someone is on the ball!
the race is a dbl header and qualifying and racing is on Sunday. I expect it to be a baptism of fire and very different from racing the Alfa!

Sounds like we could well have quite a gathering all told. Simon, when entering the 50s sports cars, there's only one thing to remember - look out for nice Mister Sytner....

a case of "whose afraid of the big bad wolf...."!! I think that for the first few races I will be trundling along at the back getting used to the car so dont expect anything dramatic! I will be testing on 21st which will be the first time I will drive the car so its a steep curve to be racing it on Sunday!
