CART name?
Any news on if and more likely when the takeover is complete what the name will be. I can't see Bridgestone and Ford dropping there names from the title but will teh name CART survive.I hope for consistancy and lack of confussion it does and also because it is a good, non-commercial name.

I'd stick with CART... it has the most name recognition we could get at this point. Starting from anew would, imo, not be too great.

I think they will/should stick with CART. It's the name everyone recognises.

If you wade through the paperwork filed with the SEC you will find that when all is said and done with the merger, the final survivng entity will be "Championship Auto Racing Teams, Inc."
As qouted from Schedule SC13 D/A filed with the SEC on Sept. 11, 2003: If the Merger is completed, Open Wheel Racing, as the sole stockholder of CART, may (and, in fact, expects to) change the present board of directors and management of CART. The Merger Agreement provides that Acquisition Corp. will be merged with and into CART, the separate corporate existence of Acquisition Corp. will cease and CART will continue as the surviving corporation, succeeding to and assuming all the rights and obligations of Acquisition Corp. Long live C^RT!!!!

 . And even if it was, we wouldn't know about it or have anything to discuss on finances <dreams for a bit>I think "CART" is still the best...when I mention to people about the series (who aren't racing fans), some have heard of CART, but I've yet to find anyone who knows what a Champcar is, or what the Champcar World Series is...it sounds nice, but I think just plain "CART" has the most potential, unless they want to start from scratch. |

They should drop the name CART right away!
Its not done very well recently and they should start this new era with a new name! I think something like "Formula Turbo". |

Everyone assumes big changes will take place. Why wouldn't Pook remain on as CEO. Recall Forsyth was a big reason that Pook got hired on.
