Asa should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Macau Formula Renault

Jim Kato on pole!!! Fantastic!!! This kid really is sensational!!! What a performance. God only knows why McLaren signed that Franky Cheng.

Kato did really well to beat ppl like Colin Fleming. He really ought to race in Europe next year.

Never heard of him? What did he do this season? And what happened with Speed, he has to start from the back?!

Scott Speed might have crashed. Colin Fleming is second fastest.

Kato did Asian Formula Renault this year and really matured as a driver. This boy is really talented.

Kato Go! Go! Go!

I'm quite impressed that Bruno Senna was 8th. And why would he bother doing the race if it were not in preparation for a move to F3 next year? Just a thought.

Because he needs all the race experience he can get? The guy's good, he just needs to get some more racing miles under his belt in anything, it'll help him in whatever he races next year.

Senna has impressed me in F.BMW, but I hope he's not planning to jump up to F3 next year - surely he needs more experience first?

Kato crashed out after trying to outbrake the race leader in Lisboa. Then Colin Fleming tried a move on the hill and that didn't work out either, putting both out.

Cheung Lo Meng of Macau (Formula Palmer Audi driver) won the race ahead of Bruno Senna with Scott Speed finishing third after starting from last place.

Anyway, I think Kato needs more top class competition to sharpen up his race skills. A year in Europe will be good for him.

I think Speed being able to move up to 3rd from the back says it all really... good job by him nonetheless.

But like Asa suggested, guys like Kato and Senna need to prove themselves against a more competitive field.

Speed was *three* seconds a lap faster than the winner and Senna. Flemming was also the only guy doing 23's when everyone else was on 25s 26s

I saw that figure too, and wondered.

Kato did manage a 2m24.0s. I think Koyabushi did break into 2m23s as well. Koyabushi, Kato and Fleming ran away from the rest at the first 7 laps until they all crashed out.

The point is Speed and Fleming weren't really that much better. They were fast but not 3 secs.

Don't forget that for both american drivers it was the first time in macao not like kato and kobayashi! Both crash in qualify. If not both would have done probably like in shanghai f1 race. Before all the crashes at the end of the race, speed drive his car at the seventh place, overtake all the ****ing slow guys with only a scratch on the nose !!! Good job
