SARD 660cc Injectors
Hi,
I have bought a PowerFC + SARD 660cc injectors and am about to get it all tuned. It all ground to a halt when it came to entering the injector lag time. Does anyone have this information or know where I can get it. Thanks in advance. Paul |

Injector lag
Hi
I scoured the internet and the only answer I could find was +0.18 milli seconds - but that was on another forum so don't hold me to it! Best check it out with the supplier or better still the manufacturers. Phoenix |

Hi phoenix, thanks for your efforts. I joined some more forums and put the question forward. Someone had a link to a datasheet for a lot of Nippon Denso fuel injectors (SARD buy from them and rebadge. Part number was identical to the one on my injectors). It turns out the injector lag is 1.28ms.
Now I can get organised to get the car tuned !! |

You should bear in mind that the injector offset is not just a single number, it is a function of battery voltage. The number you have is probably at 13.5-14.0 volts, i.e. normal running with alternator working. During cranking, the battery voltage can drop down to 10V and at this voltage the injector offset is 2 to 2.5 times greater than at 14V.

Yea the S/W FC-Logit asks for lag times at 16v, 14v, 12v, 10v, 8v, 6v. Be nice if the datasheet had more than a single number. Any rule of thumb on how to figure out the rest of the times ?

Here are some typical values for a road car injector:
6V 2.78 11V 1.58 12V 1.36 14V 1.08 15V 0.95 16V 0.85 You will need to scale this data as your injector has a time at 14V of 1.28ms, therefore multify all the numbers above by 1.28/1.08 Its obviously best to try and get these numbers right but don't worry too much as the engine will only be away from 14V during cranking and the injector 'offset' is really not that important. |

Thanks ian_w. I'll scale accordingly.
The car is booked in for next Tuesday, so hopefully soon I'll be driving her again. As I have a new tuner now, the plan is to do a base tune with the stock computer / injectors etc, and get the adj. regualtor sorted, then once all is confirmed to be ok, swap in the PowerFC + SARD 660cc + Adj. CAM gears etc and do the power tune. |
