DanJR1 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
another land speed record question

bit off topic for a motorsport website but how much did the engines in Thrust or Spirit of america weigh?

Look up Rolls Royce Spey on the net - I think they came out of a Phantom (UK version) or a Lightning (not P38 !) - I would guess SofA's engine came out of a Starfighter

Thrust SSC used 2 Rolls Royce Spey engines as jos says.
I don't know how much they weigh, but they sure generate a heck of a lot of thrust. 12,500lbs and 21,000 with reheat (afterburners)
The whole car weighed ten tonnes, and (I can't find actually recorded figures) with two engines perhaps contributing 60% of the weight, maybe 3 tonnes each?
