I wouldn't be suprised if Thommo has signed, they managed to keep Phil Bennets signing quiet enough.

That's a surprise. Thompson seems certain and David Leslie said a couple of weeks back in Autosport that he had signed with a BTCC team which would possibly lead to a works drive in 2002???

Will 888 run three cars , or is there something BMP haven't been telling us???

He did Spiders in '99 with Mardi Gras and finished 3rd and then last yr he did one NSC race for Mardi Gras at Brands. If you'd seen him race you'd know about it...

Phil has confirmed it himself on another forum less than an hour ago.(The same forum that Jason Plato, Richard West, Matt Neal, Gareth Howell, Kurt Luby and 1 or 2 other driver post on)

So many rumours!!

Like I said on the other forum last night - you guys know more about my deals than I do!!! And Simon Harrison definately knows more about my deal than I do!!!

Anyway - nothings confirmed and like all things in motorsport if you listen to all the pitlane gossips then you just do your head in!!

Thanks for all the kind messages - I'm off to call 888 to see if this rumour is true!!!

Cats & bags!

Today the list of registered competitors has gone out from TOCA and I'm delighted to say that both myself and James Thompson will drive in a two car 888 satellite team funded by the Internet bank Egg.

There are 11 entries to the Touring class plus the 2 MG entries which are expected mid-season.

Once again thank you for the well wishes - I'm not going to give you my expectations, blah, blah, blah - cos you guys are in the know and already have your own ideas on how I'll do. My bleating on won't change that - only my on track performances will.

Of course I'm over the moon and hopefully you'll all come and say hello during the course of the season. Should also provide good value for local spectators as I only live about 4 miles from Matt Neal - and with him driving for Peugeot I'm sure we'll be the greatest of rivals!!!

Lets hope he supports the Wolves!!!!

Congratulations to you Phil - you must be seriously delighted to graduate to the BTCC; especially after your Y2K - well done! Please do continue to pop by from time to time as the season progresses to keep us all informed on how you're getting on (and how you're getting on with Thommo!)

But I do wonder about your sanity when you invite the 10 Tenths boys and girls to visit! You can be sure that we will, but i'm not convinced you'll appreciate it! Seriously though, go out and do us proud - if i'm not mistaken, didn't Pluto do Spiders with Mardi Gras too ? He didn't do too badly in BTCC did he ?

Well done Phil but you might regret inviting ten-tenths to visit. They carry air-horns!!!

Try and get Thompson to start posting on here too Phil, it'd be really interesting to have every single driver on here.

Welcome Phil!

Hi Phil! good to see drivers visiting us on the site! I'm a female newcomer to the BTCC and hope to start writing again for the ten tenths motorsport a bit more than just covering the last two races of the season!

Keep up the good work and the best of luck for the season this year for the team!

Regards all the way from Glasgow!

Janet

p.s Where did Alan Morrison go????

Yeah but for some reason James seems to come in for a bit of a slagging!

Don't know what happened to Alan Morrison - in fact there are a few people who I thought might be there but aren't. No Mardi Gras entered cars!

James would be very welcome here - maybe he can change a few opinions if he were to post here ? However i'm sure Yvan would be particularly welcome...

Which brings a question to mind... [tootles off to start a new topic...]

Because you've got Egg sponsorship Phil, does that mean there will big eggs walking around the paddock and grid, a bit like Ford with Fyffes with bananas last year. ( know Egg doesn't specialise in eggs!)

James - 'bad egg!' according to some.
