The IRL entry list just came up this morning, and PJ Chesson and Hemelgarn Racing are not on the list...

Could be a number of things, but these would be my guesses:
1. They wrecked two race cars at Indy, and chose to focus on getting PJ's car rebuilt and set up for Texas 2. Given #1, the strain on a smaller team like Hemelgarn to get a road racing package to the Glen with a crew, then get a superspeedway package ready for the following week when cars have to be rebuilt would be tough on their efforts for both events. Those are just speculation on my part...but they seem to make sense |

yep, they're almost guaranteed a bottom 5 finish at the glen, with time to prepare they can probably put together a top 10 car for texas. Without time to prepare for either race they'd probably bottom 5 both races.

This weekend we have 19 and 17 car open wheel grids. Hardly inspiring.

Hemelgarn isdone, most of the staff was told to leave yesterday, Chesson has been talked about a Panther seat or maybe at Cheever. It looks like he will have to find a new team to drive for...

The damage on the two cars was more than that....they took a big bite of a Turd Sandwich on race Day last weekend.... If that is true, Snips!, I guess Carmelo Anthony was less than pleased with the results thus far.... It is a shame...everything I've heard about Ron hemelgarn has been good....he is a great guy and a competitor.... Hate to see him go if it is true... |

You've got to admire his optimism if he genuinely thinks he can win a race with Hemelgarn within the next 2 seasons.

what he means is he's likely going to have a car that can win (probably at Panther) within a few weeks.

The way you might read the quote could put PJ into a 3rd Ganassi or 3rd Penske or something instantly competitive. |

In the Pit Notes section of Sunday's Indy Star, the speculation was that the money men behind Chesson wanted to make the move to Panther.
If it happens, and apparently a lot needs to be sorted out according to John Barnes, it won't happen before Kansas on July 2nd. Panther apparently doesn't have Vitor fully funded...they are hoping Harrah's will come aboard for the rest of the season, instead of their one-off at Indy. Besides, throwing a crew together in 4 days wouldn't be very smart, but it makes little sense if your own $$$ aren't enough to fully fund your primary car. Chesson isn't on the entry list for Texas.
