Giovanardi will drive for JAS in Brazil, replacing Corthals
Corthals will also miss race in Mexico, but there's no decision about replacement yet. Gio is busy with BTCC that weekend. Source: http://www.crash.net/news_View~t~JAS...~id~132401.htm |

Honda were pretty competitive in Mexico last year, mostly as no one had a set-up advantage.
Could probably expect the same from Brazil I guess. |

Hmm, I wonder why PYC is missing the flyaway races though...
However, will be good for the team - having a top touring car driver there for a weekend, could help push the car on a little bit more |

Nice to have him back.
Are there no Mexican drivers who can race in the Mexican race? Mario Dominguez has Champcar commitments that weekend. Adrian Fernandeze, Luis Diaz, ...? Last edited by FIRE; 20 Jun 2006 at 19:24. |

Yep
Probably he has other commitments (or he doesn't like flying ) |

I would imagine so, its only 2 (or 3, if he misses macau aswell - being another FLYaway race, and Flying is his problem..which im not sure of tbh) races that he wont take part in - and although they are his sponsor, they've probably got a contract with JAS for sponsorship.

Are we certain Corthals isn't there because he's afraid of flying?! Or has FIRE's joke just turned into fact?
You'd be done for not putting that on your CV when entering a WORLD Touring Car Championship! |

Maybe he has a deal to race only in the European events (+ Macau)?
