Who's doing Combe?

With Matt Rivett and Ed Moore missing this year 2007 could well be the most open for years and with past names also wanting to take part and the entry up around the 20 so far it seems the combe championship is gonna still be healthy as ever.
So who's doing it this year???it would be good to have a few new names and some new winners, how far will Steve Burns move up the grid, will Bob Higgins son be a chip off the old block, can Steven Jenson get that win, have the past masters still got what it takes oooooooooo its too exciting

we the combe hardcore love FFORD at combe and there's still three weeks to go

Hopefully I'll do a few testing laps on 5th April and see what happens after that. Aiming to do a couple of races again this year.

I'd watch out for Ben Norton this year. New car, hopefully a good team and with Matt, Ed and Pat Blakeney having a year off a real championship contender.

Ben will be racing a Spectrum FF1600 this year. The car is owned by Wiltshire College and will be run by us students.

I don't know if he has got rid of the Swift but will be racing the Spectrum this season.

Hi All,
I'm booked in for all of the race's this season again, although I shall have to miss a couple due to an operation latter this year.Martyn (BMS) has finaly got his 93 Swift up and running (looking mighty fine) and it will be out testing on the Thursday before the race).
My Swift is currently in pieces in the garage waiting for Martyn to work his magic.
Hoping for regular top 10s this season (hope I havent jinked myself) after a 4th and a 7th at the end of last season.
Cant wait to see you all for the April meet. Glen

Yes John. You can enter 1 or 2 races on a 'guest' basis without joining the club. 3 or more races and you will need to become a member. Costs £95 for the year which includes free registration.

Steve,
When CCRC was formed it was muted that club members may be eligible to race in other club's races as "guest drivers". Do you know if this arrangement was ever made??

If so which clubs did agree?

Ed Moore won from Steven Jensen, Ben Norton and Matt McKillop, with Jim Hamilton fifth overall and winning in Pre 1990.

Robert Hall challenged Ed hard in the early stages but he had a big off at Old Paddock when something broke on the car. Alan Hamilton stayed with the leading group in fourth place, but retired with clutch problems.

There will be a full report on the Combe website in the next couple of days.

Any of you guys heard of Hugh Elliott? I know he's now sort of retired, but he did a great job a few years back. He's doing both bank holiday races this time.

I wasn't going to mention this, but you haven't been too nasty so I will He's my Uncle.
In fact I was named after him. My Aunt (his wife) also has raced. He just sent me an email that there will have to be a qualifying race as the field is so large (40+).

As a marshal at Quarry yesterday, I have to say that this was the best ever FF race I have seen - and the biggest grid too!

Thanks guys for putting on a fantastic show!
