The Wrong Way Round, WSBK Round 8
This weekend it's the eight round of the World Superbike championship on the new track layout of Misano (going clockwise now).
I think Haga should be favourite at the moment, he's been smashing the last 2 rounds. There has been some very weird news surrounding the Alto evolution team the last couple of weeks. I have only read this news on the dutch website racesport.nl, so don't know if it is true. Muggeridge and Brookes are NOT going to take part in Misano. The reason is: After the Silverstone race the truck driver for the Alto Evolution team was halted on the boat from Dover to Calais in France by ex team owner Bertocchi. After being kidnapped for several hours, the Alto Evolution truck was missing when the driver was released. It is said that the current team and Bertocchi are NOT friends (!). The Police has found the truck and bikes, but now a judge has to decide what is going to happen. This decision will be made after the Misano race and therefore the team can not touch the truck with the bikes... You don't find these kind of stories in the F1 forum :-) |

It should be noted, and I forgot about it, but Toseland and Ten Kate were not at the Missano test earlier in the season. So he has not run on the new surface or layout. Will that factor in?

I kind of hope so to. Nothing against James, but I'd love to see the title race tighten up just a bit more. It will make the season ending races all the more crucial.

Yeah, we want the championship to become tighter. Toseland himself thinks it won't be a problem, as he adjusted himself to Suzuka really quick as well, a place he had never seen before either. Suzuka isn't the easiest lap around on this planet.
Haga has said that he found it difficult to find a good setup for the new track, the biggest problem being the bumps. Suzuki also skipped that test, didn't they? |

Here you go:
http://www.crash.net/news_view~cid~5...8049~pid~1.htm No Suzuki's on the sheet. The one advantage Biaggi might have is now taken away from him. The top riders (bar Toser) have already ridden on a circuit otherwise new for everybody. |

A real shame for Bertocchi to be absent, whatever the reason. Suzuki misisng the test seems a bit silly when you look at it as Gerben has.

Yesterday (Saturday) the Superstock 600 race was ridden. There were 2 heavy crashes, which created very dangerous situations. One of the crashed bikes ended up in the grandstands. See here for a picture where they get the bike out of the stands:
http://www.racesport.nl/pics/fotos/15664.jpg Ofcourse there are rumours now the circuit isn't save enough for Motogp. My opinion, they shouldn't have changed the layout of the circuit. It seems very difficult to overtake. I loved the other layout, the new layout is OK, but no match for the old track. |

ARGGGGHHHH BIAGGI what have you done???? First of all, you mess up a what seemed to become a great finish to a good race. You mess up Haga's chances to the championship.
I think Bayliss would have won it anyway, but this was a lucky break for him. A lucky break for Toseland as well, he wasn't going well in round 1. |

Is this the championship-killer round of the season? Craig Jones just punted off Fabain Foret, who is also second in the standings (in WSS that is).
