The 2019 races are revealed. https://www.goodwood.com/grr/event-c...BER856,OMTLA,1
Quick scan suggests all fairly familiar, with 500cc F3 cars instead of FJ? |

I shall be marshalling at my normal post, post 7 - and I shall have yet another outlandish outfit at Marshal's sign on.
AFAIK the official entry list won't be released until next week. |

Interesting, this thread was created September last year and posts have yet to reach double figures!
Perhaps the event now longer holds an appeal for most club level historic racers and historic racing enthusiasts? Anyway, looks like cracking weather for it..... |

Not been to this one but would personally rather go to a PA event.
The event does need some good weather. Rather unlucky in recent times with rain. Hope a livestream is available. Looking forward to Kinrara race with the Ferraris and E Types . |

I will be loading for the next trip and then on my way Sunday, so at least will be able to enjoy pleasant driving weather as I pass through the area.... Edit- just seen email advising some Friday and Sunday tickets still available, for anyone still not decided! Last edited by Mike Bell; 9 Sep 2019 at 14:12. |

Period correct or not I love this meeting although I draw the line at getting togged up in some silly outfit. The spectacle of such iconic grids of cars and drivers on such a superb circuit is just amazing. Unfortunately there is too much pandering to the cloth cap and half a bitter brigade for my liking with the inevitable delays between races and you need second mortgage just to get in but hey ho!

Surely in order to prefer something you must have experience of the alternatives? There is probably no alternative to the Revival in terms of breadth of cars and drivers taking part, Le Mans classic is a superb experience but for obvious reasons the car categories are limited.

Yes I'd love to go but I can think of many others I' choose over it. I'm probably going over already discussed issues but hey ho. Wish all who go a good event. I'll be recovering from first day back at college . |

It’s reasonable to think that Goodwood Revival,Le Mans Classic,Silverstone Festival .Monaco Historic’s and Monterey are the top historic meetings worldwide .
It’s impossible to compare because a case could be made to argue that Spa 6 hours beats the lot. Weakness of Goodwood is that circuit is no great shakes and only used for twenty years in period. My mate is driving the single seater Alta in Pre War race and should pull his finger out and finish at the front! All have a good time as I will be in France. We will get asked back with Talbots one year perhaps.Until then they will stick with a few real cars, few replicas and specials and ,what did Peter call them, pedestrian drivers. |

So the view at Lavant is superior to Eau Rouge or under Dunlop Bridge Throw in Casino Square.? The grids are superior at LMC , Monaco , Spa , Longer Races at the other places and they are safer. Always a good thread Those who do think it’s the best and people who don’t buy that position Been going on for nearly twenty years! |

Each to our own. Some will like one thing and another a different thing.
Joy of motorsport is the variety of events, locations and range of cars that are on show. What makes it so interesting and debatable |
