FIA WTCR 2020 News & Rumours
I know it is very early to start this thread, however Aragon is confirmed for WTCR for 2020-2022:
http://www.motorlandaragon.com/es/ge...do-de-turismos Would have been good if it replaced Marrakech as a season opener Though I do not really understand reasons for the current WTCR to go to Spain |

Good circuit - step in the right direction, I think.

I think it would be a great move if they were to go to Bathurst, the long Straight should have plenty of slipstreaming.

But I guess TCR cars would be pretty boring at Mount Panorama in comparison to Aussie Supercars. Still, would be an interesting addition if you look at current artificial tracks in countries of little interest in racing.

wouldnt be a smart move at all racing on the same iconic track where supercars made their name. it would be like racing f3 cars around indianapolos oval. people will just smile and say how slow and unexciting they are compared to the big boys.

The DTM races at Brands, that doesn’t mean TCR or the BTCC shouldn’t run there. Same with other European tracks, Monza for instance has always had good touring car events.
Supercars and TCR are just different. A big TCR field would look great at MT Panorama. The drafting on the straights would be mega. Historically Bathurst has always been a touring car circuit. |

Is TCR at Nordschleife boring because of faster GT3? No it isn't.
Nothing wrong with slower cars on Bathurst. |

They still need to be chosen by the committee to go Bathurst, but Dr. Seuss was 54 when he wrote "The Cat in the Hat".

The Bathurst 6 hour is a production car event though isn’t it, not TCR?
It’s an endurance event rather than sprint also. |

Seems François Ribeiro and Marcello Lotti agreed to prolong their marriage for couple years more.

I'm happy to see TCR stay on. Other theoretical concepts like a 'Class 1' reboot are still seemingly unviable and it's been a pleasure to see the series revived with young and experienced drivers alike finding themselves in well-deserved top level drives again.
If only the BoP games would come to an end and the calendar could open up to some more traditional tracks in the vein of Monza or Brands Hatch... |

TCR rules didn't help to increase 'World' touring car racing attractiveness. The races are still far away from 2005-2008 heyday in terms of on-track action, the tracks are boring and artificial and it's extremely difficult to follow it and understand because the results are random because of BoP mess.
It's a shame because there is clearly potential in that series but only if they find solutions to BoP and replace ridiculous tracks with the proper ones. |

It’s better than the previous spec regulations they had. The main problem for me is that it is hard to access for those without digital TV. The Beeb covered it for one race meeting, then disappeared

About that. How can Hyundai close the gap that quickly when both Hyundai and Lynk & Co have 97.5%. OK there is slipstream and front car cut through the air.
But how then Huff wasn't able to overtake Tarquini when Golf have both 100% of power and slipstream. |
