Results Predictions Competition Round Six
Finally, I have decided to post the results of this not so fun round of our predictions competition. Several suggestions have been made as to what we should do with the predictions after the utter disgrace we watched today. I have come to the conclusion to use the official results. There are two reasons for this:
1. It would not be fair to "alter" the results, in fairness to those who made correct predictions - after all, Ferrari's favouritism is well known, and I'm sure this is a factor many are considering when they are making their predictions - I know I would. 2. If we start altering the results in relation to what should and what shouldn't count in the competition, then where do we draw the line? Today was an extreme example, but there could be other situations where similar things could happen, maybe and maybe not this obvious. If we don't have the policy that the official results always count, I think we are on thin ice. Formula One is a joke, let's not make this competition a joke too. So, this is not a fun task at the moment, but here are the results: Results of the Race - Round # 6 12/05 Grand Prix of AUSTRIA (Spielberg) Pole Position = Rubens Barrichello "Winner" = Michael Schumacher 2nd place = Rubens Barrichello 3rd place = Juan Pablo Montoya 4th place = Ralf Schumacher 5th place = Giancarlo Fisichella 6th place = David Coulthard Results of the 10 Tenths Predictions Competition - Round # 6 12/05 Grand Prix of AUSTRIA (Spielberg) 1 - 10 points = eatapc, Spaced Invader, Valve Bounce 4 - 9 points = Mantis13, Mekola 6 - 8 points = Daisy, Dickie Thrust, Inigo Montoya, Jay, Speed, Tristan, Wrex 13 - 7 points = AndyF, Don K, fastracer, Jukebox, Lola, Marshal, RT, Toth, wreckless 22 - 6 points = Baby Spice, Bononi, Carla O, con-rod, Crank Case, Damon, facco, FastJoel31, Kenny W., Kex, M Power, Maxmil, mr v, mtpanorama, paulzinho, pb btcc, Powered by JPM, racer69, the man, TickTag2 42 - 5 points = AlanJones, alesi95, AMoffat, badoer fan, botsquad, bulldogspirit, calais, Cougar21, D.R.T., davebreen, EERO, enemy-ace, f1manoz, f1truestory, Ferrari Girl, Number Juan, Raven, Red, SL, Spudgun, zetta 63 - 4 points = bart_jacobs, DNQ, hakkiman, kuchi, Mania, Raoul Duke, Rick, RussianFriend, Spinner, Splatz the Cow, steve_r 74 - 3 points = andrew_marsden, ljakse, Mark F1, Miss Hardt, ozrevhead, senna12 80 - 2 points = Ed-f1, freeze, LucaBadoer 83 - 1 points = com roadrunner 12.05.02 17:00:07 Current Standings after #6 round (12/05 Grand Prix of AUSTRIA (Spielberg)) 1 - 38 points = Mantis13 2 - 37 points = Valve Bounce 3 - 36 points = eatapc, Tristan 5 - 34 points = Jay 6 - 33 points = Damon, Mekola 8 - 32 points = Inigo Montoya, Kenny W., Marshal, mr v 12 - 31 points = Don K, FastJoel31, pb btcc, RT, Speed 17 - 30 points = alesi95, facco, fastracer, M Power, Powered by JPM 22 - 29 points = Carla O, Dickie Thrust 24 - 28 points = bulldogspirit, davebreen, enemy-ace, Jukebox, Lola, RussianFriend, zetta 31 - 27 points = AndyF, botsquad, Maxmil, paulzinho, Ralf's Girl, SL 37 - 26 points = Bononi, Crank Case, Ed-f1, f1manoz 41 - 25 points = badoer fan, hakkiman, ljakse, Mark F1, mtpanorama 46 - 24 points = AMoffat, Cougar21, downforce, drexel, EERO, Ferrari Girl, Red, Wrex 54 - 23 points = bart_jacobs, senna12, Spaced Invader, Splatz the Cow, Toth 59 - 22 points = DNQ, Kex, nicholaswhite, ozrevhead, Raven 64 - 21 points = AlanJones, Daisy, Mania, Raoul Duke 68 - 20 points = calais, mariov 70 - 19 points = BootsOntheSide, D.R.T., wreckless 73 - 16 points = con-rod, LucaBadoer, Rick 76 - 15 points = nameless, Spudgun 78 - 14 points = kuchi, racer69 80 - 13 points = Baby Spice, f1truestory, Faster, Miss Hardt, mjstallard, The Accomplice 86 - 12 points = the man 87 - 11 points = BBKing 88 - 10 points = Matt Lucas, Number Juan, TeddyG, wheelie 92 - 9 points = andrew_marsden, JSC, Minardi fan, TickTag2 96 - 7 points = Colin Mason, F1FC 98 - 6 points = Sonatrap, Tom Fuller 100 - 5 points = BD, DC2BChamp, f1canada, freeze, Gt_R, Lee Janotta, R_L, Schummy 108 - 4 points = dman007, Glen, nicker less, Peugeot #1, racing_guru, Spinner, steve_r, stevie.murray, Willie the Pimp 117 - 3 points = av8rirl, Jack_fd 119 - 2 points = Fuel, GanjaGrizz, rcwatts17, rollhoop, swregor 124 - 1 points = com roadrunner 12.05.02 17:00:30 |

Good call 'R' the official results are what the record books will show after all.
Should in the Monday morning light the FIA announce a change will the results also change ? Not that it is likly to happen though. Simon |

I know I said unlikley but seeing the outburst on several motoring forums, not just F1, something might happen. The FIA have been very quite about it all.

R, first of all, I must thank you again for your hard work and the prompt results. I am sure that everyone here appreciates what you do and this keeps us all entertained in some of the duller races of the year. Whatever Ferrari does, whatever MSch does, this may detract from our enjoyment of the outcome of an extremely good race, but we all enjoy this competition. So I hope you will accept my thanks for this hard work.
P.S. I hope the FIA don't disqualify the two Ferraris becuase my predictions would be kaput . Quite seriously though, it has crossed my mind not to watch F1 for awhile, I was so disappointed. I am glad I refrained from throwing the remote control through the TV screen when I saw Rubens pull over. Valve |

Brilliant R, like usual
And considering I had really bizarre picks, I still managed a decent score. |

well, thanks to rubens and tgf's antics, i am only 6 points behind, i'm hoping that mantis, if he's still at the head of the table at the end of the season will suddenly jam on the brakes and let me sail by to the win!

If the FIA strip Michael of his points will this be altered? 6 weeks till D-Day for F1.

I'm not sure what you're asking... Are you asking what will happen with the results of this competition if he loses all his points so far? I hardly find that plausible...
If he loses the "win" in Austria, this will also lead to the same alteration of the results in the competition. |

With due respect to everyone else in this forum, why don't we let R run this competition. The guy offered to do all the hard work, and we are not fighting for sheep stations are we?
R, may I suggest that you decide what you think is hte fair course of action, whatever the outcome. I'll be 100% happy with your decision. Valve |
