Results Predictions Competition Round Six

Finally, I have decided to post the results of this not so fun round of our predictions competition. Several suggestions have been made as to what we should do with the predictions after the utter disgrace we watched today. I have come to the conclusion to use the official results. There are two reasons for this:

1. It would not be fair to "alter" the results, in fairness to those who made correct predictions - after all, Ferrari's favouritism is well known, and I'm sure this is a factor many are considering when they are making their predictions - I know I would.

2. If we start altering the results in relation to what should and what shouldn't count in the competition, then where do we draw the line? Today was an extreme example, but there could be other situations where similar things could happen, maybe and maybe not this obvious. If we don't have the policy that the official results always count, I think we are on thin ice. Formula One is a joke, let's not make this competition a joke too.

So, this is not a fun task at the moment, but here are the results:

Good call 'R' the official results are what the record books will show after all.

Should in the Monday morning light the FIA announce a change will the results also change ? Not that it is likly to happen though.

It is hardly going to happen, as you say, but in the unlikely event of the race results being changed, the results of this competition will be revised accordingly.

I know I said unlikley but seeing the outburst on several motoring forums, not just F1, something might happen. The FIA have been very quite about it all.

R, first of all, I must thank you again for your hard work and the prompt results. I am sure that everyone here appreciates what you do and this keeps us all entertained in some of the duller races of the year. Whatever Ferrari does, whatever MSch does, this may detract from our enjoyment of the outcome of an extremely good race, but we all enjoy this competition. So I hope you will accept my thanks for this hard work.
P.S. I hope the FIA don't disqualify the two Ferraris becuase my predictions would be kaput .
Quite seriously though, it has crossed my mind not to watch F1 for awhile, I was so disappointed. I am glad I refrained from throwing the remote control through the TV screen when I saw Rubens pull over.

Brilliant R, like usual

And considering I had really bizarre picks, I still managed a decent score.

well, thanks to rubens and tgf's antics, i am only 6 points behind, i'm hoping that mantis, if he's still at the head of the table at the end of the season will suddenly jam on the brakes and let me sail by to the win!

I'm not sure what you're asking... Are you asking what will happen with the results of this competition if he loses all his points so far? I hardly find that plausible...

If he loses the "win" in Austria, this will also lead to the same alteration of the results in the competition.

With due respect to everyone else in this forum, why don't we let R run this competition. The guy offered to do all the hard work, and we are not fighting for sheep stations are we?
R, may I suggest that you decide what you think is hte fair course of action, whatever the outcome. I'll be 100% happy with your decision.
