Please refresh my memory.
What do different reports, that you have read, say happened? What is the discrepancy you want to clarify?

A big accident took out 7 cars, Brambilla, Baghetti, Elford, Ahrens, Westbury, Bell and Jassaud.

I think there is a video! And I have that video on my computer, at least, I think so...Did one of the cars flip as a result? And did the accident take place coming out of the Parabolica?

Roger Clark should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Autosport:

"then on lap 22 as the leading bunch came out of the Parabolica onto the main straight, Derek Bell sudden;y, and for no apparant reason, spun right in the middle of the bunch. Pescarolo, Regazzoni, and others were alreay thtrough, but Elford swiped the gyrating Bell and triggered off a succession of high speed accidents that put no less than seven cars out of the race in less than a second.

"worst hit was poor Jean-Pierre Jausaud; his car shot into the air, flinging the Frenchman to the ground as it turned over, and then landing in a heap before bursting into flames. He was lucky to escapw with a broken leg and other minor injuries. Kurt Ahrens had a long spin into the fencing, while Baghetti's Ferrari shot off to the left together with Westbury's Brabham. Elford's car finished up just short of Ahrens' car with the No. 1 and No. 4 Ferraris of Bell and Brambilla. Mario Casoni hit something solid which flattend the nose cowling of the sole remaining Dino, but he did another lap before calling at the pits to have it ripped off. Mike Walker also got involved, but picked his way through and then lost two laps in the pits while he had a damaged rear whell changed."
