Yes, because there will be race cars there which you can drive (hopefully). Please take your licence and also make sure you sign on with the others or you may not be allowed to ride as passenger if not!

Why do you need a licence to drive on a race track?
Didn't need it for the Anglesey track day! T-Car drivers manage to get round it!! |

Don't know Mark. I know that MSV will ask to see your driving licence before they let you on the track. Maybe it's an insurance issue and they have a minimum age on track days?
I assume you still have the old red cardboard licence and are frightened to get it out in case it disintegrates |

I assume the license thing is just as a measure of basic compentency. Wouldn't fancy sharing the track with a bunch of L-platers.

at anglesey we did go out in the mondeos before hand, which i suppose is the proof that we can handle the car. i guess there is no such "test" for a track day so the proof is the license...

Indeed. You arrive, sign on, driver briefing and go on track...Licence is essential boys and girls and a small price to pay for a FREE track day!

the counterpart has more info on it than the card does, the only thing it's missing is the mug shot! bring that and your passport just in case, but will be fine i'm sure!

Sign on 7.30 to 8.30, so will it still be open at 8.15 if all the guys in the queue have signed on by 8.00?
Just trying to gauge what time to get up and collect the friend who is coming with me. |

You should be able to sign on throughout the day but may have to wait a while for a driver briefing. I hope that helps.

Thats fine Dave but anyone driving also has to attend a drivers briefing. In the past they have been given to late arrivals, but it will be at a time that suits the instructor, which could be quite late in the morning.
