interesting Sportscar dates

Hi Folks,
Im after some interesting dates about sportscar racing that i can add to the ten tenths history section that can be seen on the home page of the site.

I have a few in there but then i thought why not ask the experts , and when they couldnt be found or were to busy I had to settle for you lot (Joke people )

nah you guys sure know what your on about in here and some dates of interesting things in the world of sportscars would be great to add , so anything you can come up with would be greatly appreciated.

so either post them here or send me a PM message if you can think of any , and please make them as accurate as possible as the history file needs to be spot on.

26-27 May, 1923 - first 24hr race at Le Mans
6 May, 1906 - first Targa Florio
27 March, 1927 - first Mille Miglia
31 December, 1950 - first ever race at Sebring (6hrs)
15 March, 1952 - first Sebring 12 Hours
11 Feb, 1962 - first Daytona 3hr race (precursor to the 24 Hours)
5-6 Feb, 1966 - first Daytona 24 Hours

Err.Targa Florio 1906-this was not a sports car race.Open wheelers were still doing the Targa in 1928.
