New name for new series?
I really hope it's not ISCAR, as the bottom of this article could imply.

Mix and match the following until you get a name and abbreviation that rolls off the tongue...
North American/American Sportscar/Sports Car Championship Series League Road Racing Endurance Frankly I would be surprised if this just don't go with "Grand-Am Road Racing" (current Grand-Am official name I believe) with embedded series like Grand-Am does today. Potential title sponsors for each series. I also wonder if they don't want to use "North America" and may favor "America" more. I think the use of "League" may be out due to historic use with IRL and I think the use of "Endurance" is too narrow. I think that names like Can-Am or IMSA have great recognition, but are unlikely to be used. But to play along with the game here are my ideas... American Road Racing (ARR) American Road Racing Championship (ARRC) (already used by SCCA?) Richard |

ISCAR is simply a steering/executive orgonization which is comprised of ALMS - GARRA - ACO & FIA Quote:
You are correct that Championship is not the most widely used. The Frances have used Association most prevalently; IMSA (Int. Motor Sport Assoc.), NASCAR (National Assoc. for Stock Car Auto Racing), GARRA (Grand American Road Racing Assoc.) also IMSA never has been prevelant in the ALMS's public title/branding even though it is the sanctioning body for the series. So....... ASCRA Presented by Tequila Patrón (American Sports Car Racing Assoc.) L.P. |

North American Sportscar World Championship presented by the Falken Tire Girls Boobs.
The first part because it is both ironic and aggravating, the second part is for boobs. |

No "American", please. What if they end up racing in Mexico or Brazil?
I prefer "championship" over "series". Rolex Sports Car could be kept. IMSA and can-Am looks like from another century. |

How about the Sports Car Championship of the Americas! That way, Interlagos and Potrero would be included in the future.

Ed Brown has mentioned a desire to maintain a connection with the new series, not sure if the involvement would be large enough for Patron to remain somewhere in the name. Neither they nor Rolex are understood to have had to fork out a whole lot for the naming rights they received in the past.
