He has? Why - has he caught the measles or something? Maybe you should re-examine Brights finishing record (discounting mechanical failures)

I Hope Mezera and J Richards Go Well and have a Top Finsh ahead of Skaife and Bright. I wonder if Skaifes going to blame all him mistakes on Bright again this year?

I'd say it will be similiar to last year, put Skaife/Bright together for the 500, then split them up for the 1000.

I'd be very suprised if Skaife/Richo weren't together for the 1000.

Everyone seems to be getting nostalgic for the 1000, probably Skaife/Richards, Brock back, Grice was testing the other week, i think it is great . Maybe they should go further, Brock could get a second car and shift Baird into that and get Skippy back off his farm, or Miedecke, if he wants a New Zealander maybe give David Oxten a ring. If Grice gets the Imrie drive, he should give Winston a ring....

Any other ideas

How about Moffat and Niedzwiedz in a Cenovis-backed AU? That car would have to have the best paintscheme of any V8 out there... TWR entering a 6th car with a dark green livery for John Goss and a certain West German? BTW, did I read somewhere that Reed/Ashby got a wildcard entry into the 1000? It's great to see them back again for their 17th? consecutive start.

I haven't heard anything but it would be very silly if they didn't get a wildcard. There is no way there will be a full field for the 1000, so there is no reason why they shouldn't get in.

No Ashby/ Reed Wild Card would mean NO Bathurst for me - Just would not be the same without the Dynamic Duo and their Yellow V8.

I can't recall where, but I do remember reading an article over the past two weeks about Reed and Ashby getting an entry because of the withdrawal of someone else.

If I can find it (just had a quick look and can't) will post a link or the text for you.

And thinking about this I have a feeling it has something to do with Romano not running....

Well here you go - they are listed on the V8 Supercar web site as having an entry:

23 Lansvale Racing Team Steve Reed Trevor Ashby Holden VX

Hrmmm, should Romano be getting a drive due to his franchise or championship position (40th...still)?

He withdrew from what I can remember - therefore how can he still claim a starting position?

But before withdrawing, he would have been there due to his franchise, right?

Also, isn't there something in the by-laws of AVESCO that you forfeit your franchise if you miss a round? There were exceptions with things like Canberra/Barbagallo etc, but that should be finished with by now...

Don't know about the AVESCO rules, but he *is* driving in another team isn't he?

From what I can recall he withdrew, thus opening up a position.

So romano pulled out to gain automatic entry to bathurst and this has opened a position for asby and reed to compete,

Well thats great!

Not quite right - isn't Romano co-driving for another team? All this means is that Romano's main entry is now out - not Romano.

Hrmmm, I don't think he was on an entry list, and the word from the horses mouth a couple of weeks ago was that he wasn't competing.
