Evolution of front wing design

Hi,
I'm a 3rd yr mech eng student planning a thesis on the evolution of the front wing from the late sixties to modern day. Any information concerning early aerodynamic aids used in f1 would be very useful. Also, rule changes through the years have often determined the design of said wings, and a historical analysis of the rule changes could prove to be beneficial. Does anyone know where i might obtain such info? As a general starting point this sight is fantastic, but for my thesis i will obviously need calculations. For this dimensions and such are critical. Does anyone know where i might obtain technical specifications such as wing dimensions?

Thanks for your help

Andy

Hi Andy .I remember reading about lotus (monaco) and ferrari(at the next race at spa) being the first to have wings.I'm sure i read this at a website dedicated to 1967(or 68?) F1.Maybe that could be helpfull as a starting point? There were pic's of both cars.Try searching 'historical f1.
