Silver GT should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Will the V8's be shown in high definition again?

As far as I can see the V8's are only being broadcast in standard definition...it shows contempt to the motorsport veiwer.

Not happy Jan....

peckstar has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
I think you show contempt to the motorsport viewer with this ridiculous post.

Get over it the world is not about Silver GT, sorry to tell you.

Why should would force a higher cost on the series but filming in HD when SD will do, especially when we the viewer get the footage for free

Have a look at your postcode. If it falls within Australia, your **** outa luck. Move over seas if you want better coverage of THIS series (also recently found out they get it LIVE live, not VESA live like we get here)

You may be happy with mediocrity.....but I'm not.

Sorry to tell you this but you are now in 2010 and technolgy has moved forward to the point where there are certain levels of quality expected.

Prior to Bathurst the series was shown in HD....questions should be asked.

oh and by the way.....in my world it is all about me.

I dont think its mediocrity at all, not even close

I just dont think its up to some high and mighty standard that you think you have.

I also think you might have imagined the amount of races that were shown in HD prior to Bathurst.

Urghh! High def Crompton, Skaife and Larko. Wait until the racing's something really worth watching before worrying about high def.

No it wasn't... it was just SD rebroadcast on an HD channel. Not filmed in HD at all.

It would certainly be nice if it was broadcast in true HD. Even sports like A-League soccer are filmed in HD on Fox Sports which I would guess has a smaller audience and V8s.

a-league use what 6 cameras, imagine V8 coverage with 6 cameras. From memory AFL use 12-15 per game. I think that might give you a indication on the costs involved in production for V8s

Regardless of the audience, I would imagine that the issue with HD is the cost. It ain't just cameras (and V8s would use way more cameras than any of the football codes for example) but also the OB unit etc. It is a very significant cost escalation.

Peckstar aren't you the one who always backs up V8SA when they harp on about local circuits 'need' to raise there competitor and spectator facilities and service standards 'to match the rest of the world'.

Why aren't V8SA held to the same standards in this instance by you?

Just for your info - domestic sports including cricket, a - league, golf and rugby league are bradcast in HD.

No DRT, i just ask that the circuits lift there facilities out of the 60's. clearly the v8 coverage is well out of the 60's (although one would argue, that you probably could have watched the end of bathurst live in the 60's)

What adavantage is there in spending the money on a format half of Australia cant watch and even if they could what extra do they get. wow a better picture, would rather they spent the money on important stuff like showing the races live

The biggest sport in Australia didnt show there games in HD why would v8's

and im trying to watch the gold in HD today, not having much luck, trying to watch domestic cricket in HD not having much luck, think you might have exaggerated.

Maybe if i paid to watch tv i could watch it in HD,

Have the V8's ever been shown in HD on Seven?

Sure, they were on the 7 HD Channel before it became 7 Mate, but the it was never broadcast in true HD because V8 Supercar TV don't have the equipment.

i don't feel like reading the whole thread.
All i want is to see the qualy, race etc LIVE!!!!!!!

none of the timeshift crap or delayed coverage cos u gotta wait on some crappy animation movie to finish.....

Whats so hard about showing the sport live???? its not some series from somewhere else thats visiting!! Its an Australian Series, it should be given as much support as any other Australian sport/team etc etc...

Seems the only way to get some decent airtime these days is to simulate sex with a dog or taking a dump in a hotel hallway or getting together with your footy mates for an end of season gangbang.....

ive researched and the latest figures i can find is that 75% of tvs can actually now get Digital TV, not all of them can get HD though,

so 25% still only get analogue
