WTCC Macau - WSR
http://www.crash.net/news_view~cid~88~id~154622.htm
WSR will be entering 2 BMWs at the Macau WTCC wound, under the Team Aviva banner. Colin Turkington and Duncan Huisman will drive. There's no mention of 2008 plans so I assume this is a one-off |

Very interesting but great news, I saw the press relase earlier today. I think it's a one off but you never know.

Well, on the BTCC-forum there were some rumours about WSR wanting to do the WTCC next year. It would be very cool to see both Turkington and Huisman in the WTCC next year!

The car is certainly striking. For those that don't know Aviva is the name of the group that own RAC.
It's a few years since WSR have been at Macau. |

Not only racing but winning - 2001/02/03. With WSR involved Huisman will be on for a good result again this year.

With one car already in yellow Aviva colours, does this mean WSR has 3 BMW 320si cars? Is the yellow BMW the car which Rosenblad used at Anderstorp?

I was wondering the same, but the thing is there's still a while to go to the BTCC finale, and aren't these cars paint schemes just a vinyl covering ? So they could quite easily get it put on for the press, take them back off for the BTCC then get another set stuck on.

To the best of my knowladge they only have the 2 car's. The car which was shown at the Autosport Show and tested at the start of the year was hired in from Sweden, I'm not sure where it is now.

Looks like a Holden/Vauxhall Monaro to me.

http://eerc.co.uk/cms/e107_plugins/c...lbum=54&pos=23 I've got a vague memory that WSR had some involvement with that project? The BMW looks good in Aviva colours, and with Huisman and Turkington they ought to be competitive in Macau. Could this be a taster for a full WTCC campaign in the future? Aviva have fairly wide international interests, so maybe could be a likely sponsor given their existing relationship with the team through RAC... |

Please keep WSR in BTCC - although I wouldn't say no to Huisman making it a 3 car team and/or selected WTCC appearances.
I would like to see AP and Rob Huff make BTCC appearances on not WTCC weekends, but that isn't going to happen either. |

There was a yellow Aviva BMW in the team's pit garages all weekend at Brands with Turkington's name on...

It had both Turkingtons and Huismans name on it and was present to show their plans for Macau.

Was it just a show car or a race car?
