Best place to sell a FF1600...

Hey all, after not using my Swift FF1600 for the last 5 years I've come to realise it's not going to be raced by me again It now seems silly to keep it so is the back of Autosport still the best way to sell it, or have things moved on?

It's a very up together car, loads of spares inc wishbones and body panels, lots of gear ratios, 2 Kent engines (1 with zero miles from a very respected builder), 12 wheels,
twin axle top of the range Brian James trailer, lap timers, pit boards, race batteries and lots more. Basically it's a collection of 6 years racing thats no longer needed.

Any comments would be welcomed

You could also post the year and model of your Swift on this thread... you never know... there may be someone looking for a good FF!

If you put an ad on motorsport ads or race cars direct... will you post a link here? Alternatively PM me details of what you have. Thx

I was wondering myself. In my experience racecarsdirect aint great.Ive had my van diemen rf90 on there and according to the ad its had 1922 views! (granted,1000 of those are probably me looking to see how many views there have been!).But out of those I had one,(yes one!) enquiry, and even that wasnt remotely serious.Hopefully you'll have better luck.I think I might give Autosport or Motoring News a whirl.

I think both are good.

Certainly sold several cars and surplus kit on racecarsdirect.

I am not saying this is the case in this instance but from my experience whatever you are selling, a poor response after loads of views usually means the price is too high.
The price in the current climate of some of the stuff on racecarsdirect is way too high to get a result in my opinion.
You have to remember that something you are selling is only worth what someone is willing to pay.

Why not contact Allan Cornock, he's been selling Formula Ford race cars succesfully for years.
