Its a disgrace that this hasnt happened sooner.
Basically AMA pretty much let Honda do what they want in AMA racing and as soon as American Honda lost the works bikes they knew they were never going to beat Yopsh in Superbike so made AMA run the 200 as a 600 event. Not surprisingly only Honda really made any effort to make a bike and shock horror win most of the races. Yet last year were beat by a private Kawasaki, lol Serves Honda right if you ask me, have no time for teddy throwing teams like that. Even if Hodge rides for them, everyone knows the Superbike race is more important. As Mladin said one year when asked about the 200 "I might see if I can watch any of it from my airplane window!" Interesting that the Honda FX600 is 1 second quicker than the Yamaha Supersport bike - does this give them bragging rights? I think not, AMA should work there $hit out, the racing is a shambles
