Redviper should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Hello

Hi All

I have just started Marshalling, and i do it at my local track Croft

The BTCC will be my 3rd session of marhsalling, and i wish I had done it years go

I would like to say hello, and i was wondering does anyone have a guide to the marshall posts around croft and their corropsonding numbers.

I ask becasue I always have to ask when i go on duty, and as such i look like a fool and it gets a bit embarrasing

I hope to chat to you all soon

Thanks in Advance

Ste

Hi Ste,

Welcome to Tenths,

There are a few Croft Marshals on here that I know of. I've never been myself, but I am sure they will reply to the post in the morning with the info required!

http://www.marshals.co.uk/
click on North East to reach :-

http://www.marshals.co.uk/regions/north_east/index.htm
click on circuits and choose Croft or go directly to :-

http://www.marshals.co.uk/regions/no...circuits/7.htm

Similar routes to pretty much all other regular circuits - many with detailed points such as camp sites / signing on etc all shown on a Google map

Enjoy!

Cheers, david

Hey ste if you are worried at BTCC find me, im the one usually getting harrassed and i can tell you where you need to be. Im one of the regs at croft so feel free to come and say hi.

The above guides are fab too. below is my little guide
1 - pitlane exit
2 - sign on/ clerveux
3 - hawthorns (the corner with the big gate)
4 - the cage inbetween post 3 and 5
5 - Chicane
6 - old pit straight
7 - The crossing
8 - Tower in
9 - tower out
10 - esses in
11 - esses out/barcroft
12 - sunny in
14 - sunny out
15 - hardly used but is halfway along the straight between 14 and 16
16 - complex in
17 - complex out (at the top of the paddock)
18 - hairpin
19 - Pitlane entrance (post is on the infield)

If dave tells you a place, just ask him for the number and if you need to know where there is parking on circuit let me know. We are a very friendly bunch up there

See no question is silly. The only silly question is the one not asked.

Adding to this - why is it "silly" to ask where you should be or how to get there? Surely it is more "silly" to turn up in the wrong place?

And this from the girl (PieLady) who forgot where Brooklands post at Silverstone was and broadcast it to all on the radio.......................

Don't worry about it, I've been marshalling for 6 years now and there are still places I go to regularly and still have to ask which post is which, Or maybe that's just me!!

hi all, I will be making my way to croft for my first visit for BTTC what sort of facilities are available for caravans - any hookup or do i need to pack the geni?

More to the point where do I park up the van and how do I get to sign on from the camp ^^

looking forward to trying out a new circuit (to me anyway) and those post numbers have already helped

I still smile when going on post at cadwell as if you don't go very often the post numbers have all been put on the inside of the huts on the wrong side so you cant see the numbers until after you pass the huts >< i think i had to go round the circuit 3 times the first time I went, looking in every hut for the post number ><

Hooked it onto this thread as it may be useful for the starter too

Hi TF you will need your genni, there isnt any hook up unless you have a 2 mile long lead and we drag it through some fields!

As for the campsite -

From the gate take the first right (its where all the food wagons will be stationed along the grass area

Then take the next right - There will usually be a section of toilets and showers on the right, imediately after this there is a gap in the fence which leads on to the airfield. This is marshals camping. Any problems just shout help me im a marshal and one of us will appear im sure!!!

The airfield is closed on BTCC weekend but just keep your eye out we have had one nearly land on someones caravan before now!

I dont know if you have seen this thread but we are having a BBQ on the saturday night - http://tentenths.com/forum/showthread.php?t=115648

Thanks

Sara

D***n - I was hoping lack of response meant it was "forgotten"! It was middle of the night and I was tired but it was memorable
