I would expect 22 cars to compete here? The 21 who competed at Milwaukee plus the #67 of Sarah Fisher... (correct me if I'm wrong).

So Conquest on the list but despite their "long term relationship" with Tagliani, the driver is TBA? Odd seeing as that is the reason for Junqueira being bumped from the #36 car at Indianapolis...

Jacques was very good in his day, but he was really never the same after his injury. Might be better if he stayed retired.

Also, why on earth is AJ Foyt 4th back in a car? Is it just so they can get more cautions without having to create imaginary debris?

"Tracy said (AJ) Foyt (the first) had told him he was "embarrassed" about the car the Canadian had in that race, and reckoned it was best to split for the time being.

"A.J. called and said, 'Look, I'm embarrassed about the car we gave you in Milwaukee. I can't afford to be putting you in my equipment until we've got ourselves up to par. Having you in the car puts our team under the microscope, and I want to get our team better before we do that again'.""

So it seems that AJ Foyt wants a rubbish driver in his car so no-one notices how off the pace the team are, as if they have a high-profile driver like PT then everyone will notice.

Would have thought so but who knows...

BTW Alex Tagliani said the following on his Twitter page: "Round 'em up... we're off to TX this weekend. yee haw!"

and

"Got done with workout #1 for the day... tons to get done before heading out to TX in the am. Who flys at 6am? There is no sense..."

Looks like he will be in the #34 in Texas, they must have found some sponsorship as I was led to believe that Conquest would only do road and street courses from now on

I recall hearing about their road course only scenario, but maybe the TEAM money that they can get by racing as much of the full schedule ($1.2 million) is influencing the decision to run at Texas.

If you're a team in need of $$$, you have to balance being able to put it on the track to get the cash that helps you stay afloat, or doing a select schedule and walking away from $1.2 million that you desperately need to operate in the first place.

Remember, the 34 car got a guaranteed purse of about $300,000 at Indy, even though it did not make the show....if they don't race as much of the full season as possible, do they get that money?

Raises an interesting scenario, doesn't it?

Team 3G elected not to run - surely the car is still damaged because why would they choose not to give track time to a driver who has 2 years worth of rust?

3G still didn't have the car back together in time for the first session.

Jaques quickly got the car up to a respectable speed though.

P16 for Tony is a surprise, but he's still in recovery with broken ribs. He would deserve some healing time but apparently, he wants to be in the car instead. I hope he'll be alright soon. Danica is effectively the #1 driver of AGR now and doing a good job. It doesn't look too bright for Conway in scoring the necessary position in front of her to win the unequal duel on the "Mike VS Danica" thread. With Scheckter as his teammate, he can now surely learn a lot more for his own driving than with Duno. Is Scheckter in the car for the rest of the season? I sure do hope so.

This is speculation, but I think TK may be driving the car that wouldn't get up to top speed the 1st week at Indy, because the Mutoh backup he drove the rest of May got mangled when the part broke at indy and last Sunday, the fire surely damaged that car. There hasn't been any time to fix old tubs and repair the damaged cars with back-to-back races...especially this week since they had to load up a super speedway car and get to Texas by Thursday night for practice.

He was very terse and not happy following his run last night when interviewed on IMS radio network...Could be a very long weekend for TK...

As for Tony Kanaan not placing as high as should, I believe its more the equipment than him being physically sore. That may have some small effect but I believe its bad equipment. His team hasnt given him a good car or setup for awhile. Why ? I dont know but there is no excuse for it.

Look at the Indy 500 fiasco with his car. He had to use Hideki's backup car. The Indy 500, I mean come on, the race of the year and you give TK junk like that. No reason for it. His car went out mechanically again at Milwaukee. Le'ts hope his team can put together a good car for the race tonight. He is a much better driver than what his results are showing.

I'll get off my soapbox but this kind of crap upsets me and AGR is my favorite team.

What I don't get is Viso's lack of pace. He was very fast last year, even on the ovals, and I've really been expecting him to breakthrough and get a top five, but now in addition to his bad luck in the early rounds he just seems plain off the pace. I'd love to see what he could do in good equipment, but I'm beginning to wonder about him more and more.

Good post here. I have to agree with that and couldnt add anymore to it. I like EJ so I hope he can have a better 2nd half of the season.
