Charles Lucas Engineering Ltd transformed from a race team into a racecar constructor with introduction of the "Titan MkIII" model Formula Three racecar which debuted at the 1967 British Grand Prix (Silverstone, July 15). Although the Titan MkIII didn't put a big dent in Brabham's business - only 17 were built - these cars were successful on track and their reputation for excellent build quality helped the company transition into a major player in Formula Ford... ultimately producing about 380 cars for that class!
