Le Mans 2005 Review DVD
Just to let you all know the 2005 Race Review DVD is out. I bought this afternoon and I have watched it all the way through. It's OK and takes the same format as the ones have over the last few years.

You can buy it for a little over £14 including postage from Amazon.

Does it have its normal dreary commentary?

it's just in case we forget!... including forgetting to watch the DVD more than once! the "but anything can happen at Le Mans" and similar statements get me. I think they treat it like just a little bit of an idiots guide - problem being that if u like Le Mans enough to buy the DVD then your going to know quite a bit about it already...

It's Neville Hay doing the commentary isn't it?
My favourite bits of the previous discs is when something unexpected happens (such as a large crash) and Old Nev has to pretend to be surprised/shocked/"oh, the Humanity!" as if it was recorded live rather than a good time afterwards. |

Not Neville Hay - Christopher Tate, I think. Absolutely agree with the comment about having the RLM team back (as long as they edit out any contribution from Gary Champion) - the 'Radio Le Mans - The Video' series in the late 80s / early 90s were superb.

I could put up with Neville - the voice still reminds me of the very early days of RLM - and his occasional reappearances. Who is Christopher Tate - and why does he get this "berth" every year?

He's very often a studio pundit for Sky's IRL coverage - and the driving force behind the "Gentleman's Motor Racing Diary" videos (basically his dad's home movies).

As an aside, I was at Gatwick airport last week and the tannoy voice which regularly announced that passengers should not leave baggage unattended, sounded very much like one of the RLM crew, Alan Hyde I think.
