Who has a kart to test

I really want a taste of a 125/250 gearbox before I move completely away from Karting. Does anyone know of anyone who is willing to let me test one, with a possible race later (though not neccessarily)

Just want to have a go before the car budget takes over entirely.

if you think you can help, please e-mail me a jamz_b@hotmail.com to talk prices.

Cheers

Yep, Jade karts are the kiddies. They have done gearbox test days in the past - ring them to see if they still do. These are at Shennington which is near Banbury (Oxfordshire). They will have 125's and 250's for you to try. It was a bit pricey as I recall - about £40 quid but if it's to get a taster then its money well spent. Gearbox racing is the dogs, fast, clean, fun. Try it, you'll never regret it.

I don't like karting with gearbox,it's dangerous when you are testing the kart and there are regular karts on the track, everytime you shift and there's a regular kart behind they get awfully close to the back,I've seen bad accidents like that

Don't understand you. Are you saying the gearbox karts are close behind a regular kart ? Surely if you are in a gearbox in front of a regular kart you would pull away without an problem at all.

Yeah,I didn't formulated that good. When I speak of a regular kart than i mean a kart without gearbox that is as fast as a kart with gearbox. When a regular kart is slipstreaming, and you shift than the regular kart is an instant faster wich results in the regular kart hitting your back.I cannot explain it that well,sorry....
But i race them myself so...

Folks, I you have a genuine desire to get into Superkarting, the Queensland Superkart club hols test drive days on a regular basis.

We have a number of karts that are suitable to take for test drives, but these are not for joy rides.

The karts are 80cc gearbox and 125 gearbox. 250's are not suited to first timers. The 250's are way too fast (read scary, real scary).

You can contact the QLD Superkart club through the web site www.qldsuperkart.org

I cannot recommend more this method. Be warned you will buy after you drive, they are that addictive. I did !

Cheers

Matt
