I think Arie Luiendyk must retutn to the Indy 500.
He may have passed 40 a couple of years now but I hink that he would have kicked Montoya's Butt. Give them equal machinery and Luiendyk would lap a second faster than Montoya! Your comments Please. |

Sorry - Arie isn't qualified to carry Juan's helmet! Nice guy & all that, but he just isn't, and never was, a great driver. Good, but not great.

Luyendyck is a good driver and has done very well at Indy, but he has never dominated in the fashion that Johhny Rutherford and Rick Mears of the past. Lazier looked to be the only driver with anything for Montoya and when it all came down Montoya drove away from him. In equal cars, I still think Montoya would beat Luyendyck most of the time.
