Err - I will confess to being one of them
We were trying to get the crowd to join in by relaying some music through the unit PA syste, We did get some to join in but not many

We were just having fun and wanted others to join in too. Shame we can't dance eh? )

Still, we had a great weekend - hope others enjoyed watching the 'mirth mobile' too

Cheers for now

It was cool...but like you say shame about the dancing... not sure that "Upside Down" was the best choice of music though

I still miss charge of the Light Brigade being played as the chase is on. It is great to see the rescue unit bringing a smile to peoples faces as it went by . Our Observer just laughed and wanted to know which bunch of nutters it was. When he heard the name Morrell the replay was that explaines it.

I do hope so - 'cos that is the intention )
I don't know about you guys but I go there for a laugh. Although we are under pressure when we're operational, we treat the time in between as the opportunity to enjoy ourselves

Keep smiling

You're not the only ones.

Uncle Alistair brought Percy Penguin a Penguin chocolate bar which he then guarded very jealously and wouldn't let a certain IO anywhere near.

Unfortunately I don't have any pictures.

I second that! Let me give you an example.

I remember, (when this is the opening line, it means you’re getting old) a meeting, early eighties as granddad recalls, where very few people appeared to be present at the grandstand opposite the pit lane at Zandvoort. In Holland marshals go to the circuit and change their clothes at the circuit, instead of going in overalls as I’ve noticed is the common thing to do in Britain. We didn’t have a clubhouse to do the changing of clothes by then, so we allways did this in the pitlane, while doing the check-up of our rescue cars (BMW’s it where, in those days). When we noticed so few spectators being present, we thought it would be nice to give those who did turn up a warm welcome and give them the feeling they were appreciated . So we drove the BMW’s to the back of the grandstand, and went on and greeted EVERY spectator there (nice to have you here, hope the drivers will give you a nice show, please come back next time etc.). I think you can imagine how surprised they were!

I was just checking on it from time to time to make sure it had not melted. Honest KB

Guilty as charged; I mentioned no names only grade/duty.

PS I've just thought was Uncle Alistair wanting Percy Penguin to commit cannibalism giving him a Penguin bar?

Several years ago at the Birmingham Suprprix our unit was laden with marshals as we took them out to Post.
Playing over the unit P.A. was monty pythons "always look on the bright side of life". As we went round a corner who should be in the middle of the track but Derek Ongaro with the FIA stewards. Well it brought a smile to Dereks face, as they quickly moved to the side of the Track.

They often say that two-tone sirens on an ambulance or other emergency vehicle can cause distress to a casualty either "On Board" or when the vehicle is arriving at the scene of an accident.
Sooo, wouldn't it be better to play music/songs through the Rescue Unit PA System when on a "Shout"?
Examples (And please feel free to add to this)
Crawling From The Wreckage/Dave Edmunds
Upside Down/Di Ross
Don't Push It Don't Force It, Let It Happen naturally/Leon Haywood
Trapped/Colonel Abrahams

How about the Ice Cream van jingle? The new ambulance is just made for "selling" ice creams to marshal's on hot days when traveling between posts.
