OWRS Street Race in the UK?

here's the story from autosport.com

Manchester City Council has opened negotiations with OWRS, the US promoter of the Champ Car World Series, to stage five races (2005-09) on a 2-mile street circuit on private land in the British city. Motorsport News claims today that a meeting has already taken place (at Long Beach two weeks ago) and that work could start on the project next month if MCC funding is approved.

Manchester eh! They'll have to deploy some heavy duty security guards in the parc ferme zone or they'll come in in the morning to find all their wheels have been nicked.

It is being talked about, but it is nice to have some written support about the potential race.

At the very least, what I take from this is that a race here in England seems to still be on OWRS agenda in the future...good news for me, anyway!

Good to hear that England could once again host a CWS race, I was a big fan of the Brands race last year, even if there wasnt much overtaking, but then the Indy circuit isnt much good for single seaters anyway.
