Depends how big a crew you want to run but it could probably be done for £350 000.

Next year they will have the new car so I think it will be about 285-300

Thanks for the info. I assume that is based on two cars?
So the current cars that are on the market cannot be used in next years scholarship?

Could anyone provide a rough breakdown on costs.

eg:

Cars
Engines
Tyres
SRO Costs

What are the cost of spares like?
Eg. rough guess for the cost of a corner
Bodywork etc.

Is it really as high as GBP300K? That sounds awfully high. I would have thought around GBP200K.

A car will cost around 25k A half decent spares package will cost another 10k-15k, tyres will cost you around £500 a set. The average team will use 70 sets per car a season, so thats 35k. An engine is the biggest cost that will be a minimum of 60k a year. To register a car for the championship will cost you 8k. Then there is the wages, an engineer 40k, number 1 mechanic 28k, number 2 mechanic 18k and then a truckie 25k. Then the fuel, hotels, food, travel, rent, consumables, etc. will be around 60k-70k. Then if your a new team setting up there will be added costs of, a truck, equipment etc. All in all if your thinking of doing it then dont bother you will never make any money!!!

Thanks for all the info so far.
Sounds possible then and all for well under 300k.
What chassis can be run next year?
Havent approached SRO or seen any regs yet, but does a team have to run two cars and two drivers?

The current Championship Class cars become eligible for Scholarship next year.

You don't have to run two cars, and you don't have to do every round.
