Novice should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
New Chief Marshals car

Chief Marshal Peter Scillitoe was seen parading around Brands Hatch this weekend in a very nice yellow Porsche Carrera GT.

Neil Warland should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
The car was begin demoed at Brands last weekend as well at the BTCC meeting and he came sooooo close to parking it in the gravel at Druids (backwards!). His second lap was, shall we say, slighty calmer

Sadly it wasn't Mr Scillitoe driving it at the BTCC meeting. Had he been doing so I'm sure a few teams would have snapped him up for a drive next year

Post 7 reported said Mr Sillytoes to race control for "grinning inanely" everytime the porker stepped its back-end out coming out of druids.

Jelously, mind you... Pure jelousy.

Can I ask, Was he supposed to be doing quick laps, with a helmet etc...

If he was then nice one to him BUT if he was not then I think it is appaling that again just because a top official has been given a nice car for the day they decide that they are willing to risk the lives of marshalls and recovery crews by driving like a lunatic. I wonder what his reaction would be if a driver in a race 'got it sideways' under yellow flags?

The car in question was being driven by one of its German test drivers.

Peter's role in the car appeared to be attempting to slow him down.

With only moderate success

Bryan Degerlund should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
The only driver of the cat throughout the Porsche Festival weekend was a very friendly German Porsche AG driver, who had either won his class or overall, in a recent ALMS race. The commentators could never decide which!
Peter, with several others, not at the same time of course, rode "shotgun" in radio contact with the tower. The GT was used as lead car for the several Porsche parade laps together with a few demonstration laps. When marshals were sweeping on the track at the bottom of Paddock during the last parade lap, there were at least three waved yellows (post 1, startline and post 2) to warn the parading cars.
