British GT's Castle Combe

The British GT Championship goes to Castle Combe this weekend. Alister McRae brother of Colin is behind the wheel of the RJN Motorsport Nissan 350Z this weekend, it will be interesting to see how he gets on.

Free Practice has just finished and the the times can be found here, any it looks like business as usaual for Scuderia Ecosse Farrari.

I have just seen on DSC that Alister McRae will not drive the Nissan this weekend there are problems with his racing licence, it now looks like he will do a couple of races before the end of the year.

Is everything OK with the noise issues, only we heard (at Brands) that there might be a problem, only a rumour mind you.

Not sure Rod, I'm sat at home rather than being at Castle Combe. Anyway qualifying has taken place and the grid for todays race will like this and for tomorrow like this

Why is there only 1 TVR in the 2nd race. Not more problems with the engine?

I have just been looking at the times again on DSC and it seems that both cars have been withdrawn from meeting.

Alfa Fan has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Again, the LNT ones? There so crap this year.

Not on pace though Alfa Fan, just reliablity. Yes they are slower than the Scuderia Ecosse cars, but then Scuderia Ecosse is a top line GT2 team IMO I have no doubt that LNT will get over their recent run of problems, and soon.

Both, anyway todays race has just finished and the top 5 looks like this:-

1 #35 Scuderia Ecosse
2 #34 Scuderia Ecosse
3 #55 Embassy Racing
4 #77 Eurotech
5 #69 Eclipse Motorsport

One LNT car was removed due to noise problems, the team then packed up and went home.

Dissapointing really, as I would have loved to see something other than a Ferarri or a Porsche at the front.

Other than that there were no other noise issues that were not fixed.

The Morgan broke something and missed race 1, but should be out for race 2.

With TVR and Ultima no longer present, there's nothing that really stands out in this championship anymore... Although I'm not surprised in the slightest that they weren't at Castle Combe because they were both by far the loudest cars in the championship this year (still nowhere near FIA GT noise levels or anything tho)

One has to hope that if the worse comes to the worse and the nimbys win this one they build a huge airport there instead

Yeah bloody moaning Barstewards!

The 2 TVR's were way over the noise limit, but instead of fitting silencers they packed up there toys and went home!
Was a dam good day though, apart from the GT3 #22 who crashed big time on the out lap!

Only one failed - the other (#43) was acceptable.

possible costs of both BGT and LMES plus the Silverstone FIA GT round and Sebring 12 hours? not got DSC access (i refuse to pay for news websites - no offence to the DSC creators/members - just my views) so not sure of the reasons.

In summary Alan Mugglestone says it "the culmination of two years of frustration" and inconsistent decision making by the organisers
